Warner Brothers Japan’s official website for the forthcoming two-part “Final Chapter” of the live-action film adaptation project based on Nobuhiro Watsuki’s action jidaigeki manga series Rurouni Kenshin has released a stunning new visual featuring the protagonist Kenshin Himura brandishing his sword in a blazing town. Its two taglines read: “All for The Future” and “Mirai wa Koko kara Hajimaru-“ (The future begins from here-).

The director of the first three films in 2012-2014, Keishi Otomo returns to the director’s chair, alongside Takeru Sato as Kenshin Himura. The shooting was done in various locations across Japan, including Kyoto, Nara, Shiga, Mie, Hyogo, Kumamoto, Hiroshima, Tochigi, Saitama, and Shizuoka from November 2018 to June 2019.
The first part Rurouni Kenshin Final Chapter: The Final is set to be released in Japan on July 3, 2020, then the second part Rurouni Kenshin Final Chapter: The Beginning will follow one month later, August 7, 2020.
