Top 10 Most-Watched Naruto Shippuden Episodes of the Decade

The 2010s were the decade that saw Naruto grow from that little boy on a swing to a hero, ninja demigod, and father. The better part of the decade also saw Naruto’s friends step up to battle in the Fourth Great Ninja War. And hey! Thanks to all of you, it was even the decade Naruto Shippuden became the most-watched anime on Crunchyroll!

With a series that is as long and iconic as Naruto, naturally, people are gonna want to look for those big beats so the top 10 most-watched episodes of Naruto Shippuden are all about Naruto’s growth and the biggest battles from the Fourth Great Ninja War!

1. Episode 1

This makes perfect sense! Some of you spent the decade starting out the legendary adventures of Naruto! Or, if you’re anything like me, you came back to this episode over and over to remember the simpler times when Naruto was just happy to see all his friends again.

2. Episode 2

One of the things I always loved about long-running shonen anime is that the first couple episodes pretty much always end right before the action starts. The Kazekage Rescue Arc is a bit of a slow burn so hey, it makes sense that people watched Episode 2 right after they finished Episode 1.

3. Episode 3

Alright, this is it! Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi are finally going to head in the first fights of the series. We also get a little more of fan-favorite Deidara here who frankly, is always worth a rewatch of early Naruto Shippuden.

4. Episode 329

Naruto is really so embedded in pop culture to the point that I think everyone you run into on the street knows he’s a mischievous ninja kid with a demon fox in him. This is the episode where ninja and Tailed Beast become one! It was a long time coming, but finally seeing Tailed Beast Sage Mode Naruto is worth it.

5. Episode 420

 Naruto Shippuden Episode 420

At first, I thought this episode made the list because of the episode number (and maybe that is why), but this is the episode where Might Guy opened the Eighth Gate and fought Madara to the (almost) death. For 419 episodes now, Madara has been setup as a godlike man who couldn’t be beaten by anyone who now meets his match in everyone’s favorite dad.

Fun fact: Might Guy opens the Eight Gates in Vol. 69 of the manga. A good moment worthy of good numbers.

6. Episode 424

Naruto Shippuden Episode 424

You came to watch Episode 420 as a joke but stayed on to finish watching one of the best fights of the series. Episode 422 and 423 were an anime-exclusive arc about everyone’s favorite little kid turned dreamy wife guy Konohamaru, but 424 takes us to the start of Madara, Naruto, and Sasuke’s final battle!

7. Episode 421

Naruto Shippuden Episode 421

Might Guy’s battle with Madara rages on while Naruto and Sasuke learn that their rivalry goes as far back to the dawn of the age of ninja. Some people probably came to see Might Guy and Madara continue fighting, others probably wanted to see how Naruto and Sasuke obtained their Six Paths Sage Mode form and Rinnegan.

8. Episode 374

Naruto Shippuden Episode 374

If you ask people to name Naruto characters off the top of their head they’ll probably say Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura when they hadn’t been a team for almost 10 years by this point in the series. In this episode, Team 7 is back and stronger than ever ready to take on The Ten-Tails. It’s an absolutely legendary moment where they finally live up to their masters! How could you see this and not feel so proud of them?

9. Episode 500

Naruto Shippuden Episode 500

Besides the first episode, the next logical episode people would watch is the final episode! No matter who you are and how familiar you are with Naruto, there’s something so cathartic about seeing this group of kids who survived a war come into their own and get their happy endings.

10. Episode 476

 Naruto Shippuden Episode 476

And last but certainly not least, is Episode 476, The Final Battle. We all know the scene: Naruto and Sasuke dash across the Valley of the End, their childhood version of themselves growing right before us culminating in a clash between the two legendary ninja, Sasuke forces Naruto to perform hand signs, Kurama and Susanoo clash, and so many more insane feats happen in this episode it’s hard to believe this is just the start of Naruto and Sasuke’s final battle.

What’s really cool about the Top 10 Naruto Shippuden episodes of the decade is that it seems like Naruto fans don’t necessarily have favorite episodes, but favorite moments and seem to know the exact moments their favorite battles start and finish. You all came back time and time again to see Might Guy take on Madara or see Team 7 come together, fall back apart, and come together again. These are characters we grew to love like family over the last two decades and nothing shows how much we care quite like reliving their best moments over and over and over again.
