\nThe powers that be over at ABC<\/strong> are finally speaking out about those crazy rumors surrounding Clare Crawley<\/strong>\u2018s headline-making season of The Bachelorette<\/em>!<\/p>\n

Amid juicy conspiracy theories that have surfaced suggesting the 39-year-old might have been forced out\u00a0of the gig, producer Rob Mills<\/strong> app<\/a>eared on Wednesday\u2019s ep of\u00a0Bachelor<\/em> alum Nick Viall<\/strong>\u2018s The Viall Files<\/em> podcast, and let\u2019s just say he didn\u2019t exactly deny it!<\/p>\n

Mills did make a point to acknowledge that producers knew from the start Clare\u2019s season would be \u201cunpredictable.\u201d However, showrunners had no idea their lead would fall so quickly for her contestant Dale Moss<\/strong> before ever really giving the other guys a fair shot. As viewers saw on Tuesday night\u2019s episode, Miz Crawley did not hand out a group date rose during an outing that did not include Moss, choosing instead to give the flower to herself.<\/p>\n

According to Mills, that move was a major red flag that the season could not continue business as usual with her at the helm:<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the time, it was sort of controversial. This was the time when we started thinking, \u2018Oh my god, like we\u2019ve really got to start thinking about this.\u2019 When she didn\u2019t give out that rose and just gave it to herself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Even we have to admit that was<\/em> pretty concerning and harsh! Viall agreed and chimed in with his take:<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like I saw that coming. It\u2019s like \u2018Dale\u2019s not on this date, I\u2019m just not going to give a rose.’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

At that point, Mills said the wheels began turning on finding a suitable replacement:<\/p>\n

\u201cRight. That was it. That was it, that was when we started making the call.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Following the date, which was centered around a group roast that ended up being all about Moss, the cameras showed Crawley approaching producers with obvious disappointment. Mills explained by that point, the other contestants were \u201cstarting to be in revolt\u201d because gurl was clearly playing favorites!<\/p>\n

\u201cThose shots with producers that we don\u2019t really like to show, breaking the fourth wall\u2026 we had to show that scene, [so] you could see what\u2019s going through Clare\u2019s head.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Both men agreed it\u2019s pretty \u201ccommon\u201d for the lead to fall for someone hard early on, but not to the extent of these lovebirds! Clare and Dale\u2019s speedy connection left everyone unprepared for what should happen next:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was always about, \u2018They\u2019re going to walk off.\u2019 You know as the lead, you have moments where you\u2019re like, \u2018I\u2019m done, I\u2019m out.\u2019 It was sort of never, \u2018Oh my God, what if they\u2019ve met this person [early] and we\u2019ve got to shut this whole thing down?’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Shut it down? After going through all of that trouble to get the series<\/a> up and running again? No chance! There\u2019s always a plan B or in this case, plan T for Tayshia Adams<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Mills also took a moment to address the notion Crawley had actually met Moss prior to filming the show:<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s been asked, \u2018Did you guys speak before this?\u2019 and she swears on her dad\u2019s grave that they didn\u2019t. She had never seen this guy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ultimately, the pair\u2019s romance could not be stopped and their exit was inevitable:<\/p>\n

\u201cShe just couldn\u2019t do it anymore. I think she was sort of going crazy a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But commenting on the big switcheroo that\u2019s set to take place with Adams, Mills said:<\/p>\n

\u201cTayshia will be part of the season starting next week. This is where, as Chris Harrison<\/strong> says, The Bachelorette<\/em> will blow up.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
