\n Stephen Amell has faced yet another takedown on the set of his new Starz wrestling series \u201cHeels.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amell, 39, is recuperating from a back injury he suffered while filming a stunt earlier this week in Atlanta, TV Line reported on Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile performing a stunt on the set of \u2018Heels\u2019 this week, Stephen Amell sustained an injury to his back,\u201d Starz said in a statement to The Post. \u201cFollowing a medical evaluation, he is now resting and recovering at home in anticipation of his return to set. Production continues as Stephen recuperates.\u201d<\/p>\n

The full extent of his injury was not revealed. However, when contacted by The Post, show spokespeople said that production \u201cwas following all requisite stunt safety protocols at the time of the incident.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amell was assessed by on-set medical personnel and stunt coordinators immedia<\/a>tely following the incident. Stunts are rehearsed before they are executed, with a stunt coordinator and stunt and wrestling trainers on the set any time actors engage in physical activities.<\/p>\n

The \u201cArrow\u201d alum\u2019s mishap came around the time he opened up<\/a> about testing positive for COVID-19 while filming and dropped 15 pounds while sidelined for several weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I got the positive test \u2026 it became, holy f\u2009-\u2009-\u2009k, I just destroyed this show because I\u2019m No. 1 on the call sheet and I work every day more or less,\u201d he told Michael Rosenbaum during a recent episode of the \u201cInside of You\u201d podcast. \u201cI\u2019m in my head going, \u2018S\u2009-\u2009-\u2009t, they\u2019re going to have to shut down the production. We\u2019re not yet done with the first block of two episodes. Did I just ruin this?\u2019\u2009\u201d<\/p>\n

While Amell has been cagey about how he may have contracted the coronavirus, on Thursday, insiders revealed to Page Six<\/a> that they suspect a birthday party for his 35-year-old wife, Cassandra Jean, in Palm Springs this month could be worth a look.<\/p>\n

Amell said his symptoms included significant loss of app<\/a>etite, chills, dizziness and a plugged ear. But his main concern was how it would affect those he was working with and the show overall.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy anxiety came from the idea that I would be letting hundreds of people down,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot everyone has the luxury of taking two weeks off. In fact, most people don\u2019t,\u201d he added. \u201cWe are in the midst of a global pandemic and times are tough for a lot of people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just last Saturday, a T-shirt-and-shorts-wearing Amell shared a photo<\/a> on Twitter of himself upright and taking a stroll, presumably while shooting the series post-diagnosis.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo good to be back working away on Heels. We\u2019ve got great leadership and a super f\u2009-\u2009-\u2009king solid crew,\u201d he wrote before wryly noting about his attire, \u201cPlus, short shorts.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n
