\n Media<\/a> watch: A War To Rig the Election<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBig Media is actively at war\u201d with half of America, \u201cdesperately working to rig an election against them,\u201d warns The Federalist\u2019s Mollie Hemingway<\/a>. They \u201crefuse to do journalism on Joe Biden,\u201d ignoring stories like The Post\u2019s expos\u00e9 on Hunter Biden\u2019s e-mails, and actually encourage social media to suppress conservatives. They hide President Trump\u2019s accomplishments, such as in foreign affairs and on the economy, and reports about his voters\u2019 enthusiasm. \u201cThey\u2019ve pushed outlandish conspiracy theories\u201d that many Americans continue to believe. And they\u2019ve \u201cgone overtime to influence public opinion with their emphasis on polls,\u201d despite big problems with those surveys. We\u2019ll find out next week if that will be enough to win the day. But no one \u201cwho cares about a free and functioning country should tolerate what they\u2019ve done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Economist: Trump\u2019s Huge Win for Workers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joe Biden argues President Trump didn\u2019t so much build a strong economy as inherit one, notes economist Karl Smith at Bloomberg<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s a good line \u2014 but it ignores [Trump\u2019s] successes.\u201d Trump pushed tax cuts, spending increases and low interest rates. His goal of 3 percent growth \u201cwas derided as delusional,\u201d while commentators \u201cdeclared his policies reckless and irresponsible.\u201d Yet unemployment continued to fall, and \u201cthe percentage of Americans aged 25 to 54 either employed or looking for a job saw its first sustained rise since the late 1980s.\u201d That changed \u201cthe character of the labor market.\u201d Meanwhile, real median household income grew almost $6,000, to $68,703. \u201cTrump proved that an aggressive growth strategy can improve the fortunes of the average American family.\u201d Whether he wins reelection or not, \u201cThat strategy should continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Libertarian: \u2018Disinformation\u2019 Double Standard<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mainstream outlets see The Post\u2019s Hunter Files reporting \u201cas so dangerous\u201d to Joe Biden\u2019s electoral chances that \u201cit must be branded \u2018disinformation\u2019 and suppressed at all costs,\u201d sighs Reason\u2019s Robby Soave<\/a>. Yet given the story\u2019s subsequent corroboration, it seems we have arrived at \u201ca regrettable standard: Politically motivated acts of journalism are deemed \u2018misinformation\u2019 or \u2018disinformation\u2019 by the mainstream media, if they are harmful to the Democratic establishment.\u201d The double standard is especially glaring when we compare the censorship of The Post to, say, comedian Sacha Baron Cohen\u2019s disingenuous framing of Rudy Giuliani in his \u201cBorat\u201d sequel. \u201cIf Trump is swept out of office, and a new administration . . . takes power, it will be more vital than ever for the gatekeepers to app<\/a>ly their standards fairly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Urban beat: Ignoring Philly\u2019s Riot Victims<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fatal police shooting of a knife-wielding man in Philadelphia sparked \u201canother round of mass looting, arson and violence,\u201d reports Thom Nickels at City Journal<\/a>. Yet even as rioters wreaked havoc on the city, officials said nothing about \u201cthe community suffering the ill effects of smashed-up businesses and boarded-up banks.\u201d Such outbursts turn neighborhoods into \u201cwarzones.\u201d Yet days before the most recent riots, the city council approved a bill prohibiting police from using tear gas, pepper spray or rubber bullets on protesters. No, \u201cdemonstrators are not enemy combatants,\u201d as officials stress \u2014 \u201cbut neither are rioters demonstrators.\u201d The \u201canarchists, looters and common criminals made a choice to engage in mayhem,\u201d argues Nickels, and \u201cPhilly police should use whatever means are at their disposal to restore order.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conservative: Protect Pregnant Inmates<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pregnant prisoners often endure \u201cabhorrent and inhumane\u201d treatment, declare Kaitlin Owens and Rebecca Hagelin at the Washington Examiner<\/a>. Birthing conditions for many inmates are \u201cunfathomably cruel.\u201d If America truly believes in \u201cthe equality of every person, it is past time we change how we treat pregnant women.\u201d With the \u201cProtecting the Health and Wellness of Babies and Pregnant Women in Custody Act,\u201d the Senate now has a chance to guarantee adequate health care, nutritional standards and proper care for unborn children, reforming \u201ctreatment of incarcerated pregnant mothers, as well as the innocent babies\u201d that suffer \u201cthrough no fault of their own.\u201d Any government without these protections is \u201cnothing short of barbaric.\u201d<\/p>\n
