\n France is under attack by \u201cIslamist and terrorist madness,\u201d President Emmanuel Macron warned after the country saw yet another terror attack \u2014 two men knifed to death and one woman beheaded in a Nice cathedral. Worse, the savages have support in much of the Muslim world.<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s horror follows a Chechen teen\u2019s beheading two weeks ago of a teacher who had shown his class pictures of the famous Charlie Hebdo cartoons of the Muslim prophet Mohammed.<\/p>\n

Publication of the \u2019toons was the excuse for the 2015 slaughter of most the magazine\u2019s staff. Various \u201clone wolf\u201d jihadists have killed over 250 people in France since then. The country\u2019s never officially gone off high alert.<\/p>\n

Macron app<\/a>eared at a memorial service for the slain teacher to reaffirm his citizens\u2019 right to free speech. And he refused to denounce the cartoons, vowing instead to fight \u201cIslamist separatism.\u201d His government proceeded to raid Islamic associations and plans to deport 213 foreigners on a government watchlist.<\/p>\n

In response, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are boycotting French products. Libya, Pakistan and Iraq have seen protests. Turkey\u2019s dictator insists Macron needs \u201cmental treatment,\u201d while a past leader of Malaysia insists Muslims are right to \u201ckill millions of French people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Macron\u2019s crackdown may go beyond what\u2019s constitutional in America, but it fits the French Republic\u2019s relentless secularism.<\/p>\n

And he\u2019s absolutely right to stand up for France\u2019s traditional freedoms \u2014 and to tell his critics in the Muslim world to go hang.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
