\n Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller on Sunday defended President Trump\u2019s claim that doctors are profiting from coronavirus deaths and said Democratic governors must reopen their states and get the country \u201cback to normal.\u201d<\/p>\n

ABC News<\/a>\u2019 anchor George Stephanopoulos asked Miller why the president \u201cattacks doctors working on the front lines?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think he was attacking anybody at all,\u201d Miller said on \u201cThis Week\u201d<\/a> in an interview that aired Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he was talking about how most Americans want to safely and securely reopen the country, get back to work, get back to life as normal,\u201d Miller said.<\/p>\n

But Stephanopoulos pushed back: \u201cWe all just saw it. He was talking about doctors\u2019 inflating COVID deaths for money.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to get into the billing aspects of which there have been many reports on. There have been all sorts of independent reports pointing to that,\u201d Miller said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the fact of the matter is, people want to get their life back to normal. They\u2019re tired of the lockdowns. You look at these Democratic run states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, we\u2019re seeing this on the campaign trail with rallies, people are tired of these lockdowns they want to safely reopen,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Trump, at a campaign rally in Michigan on Friday night, questioned the motives behind doctors\u2019 reporting on the number of coronavirus cases.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur doctors get more money if someone dies from COVID. You know that, right? I mean our doctors are very smart people. So what they do is they say \u2018I\u2019m sorry but everybody dies of COVID,’\u201d Trump said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
