And it\u2019s true \u201cthe mob would be gratified by Donald Trump leaving office.\u201d Yet giving in to violent demands only proves \u201cviolence works and leads to more of it. A mob is never satisfied.\u201d Americans know \u201ca nation that votes out of fear is lost\u201d \u2014 and would do well to remember that now. \u201cThis republic endures when people vote based on what they think will be right and good for all of us.\u201d If they don\u2019t, \u201cthis grand experiment in republican self-government will be headed for failure.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Libertarian_Were_Now_Truly_Beating_COVID\"><\/span>Libertarian: We\u2019re Now Truly Beating COVID<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThe fatality rate among COVID-19 patients in the United States has fallen dramatically since last spring, from 6.1 percent in mid-May to 2.6 percent yesterday,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2020\/10\/29\/new-evidence-suggests-better-treatment-is-contributing-to-falling-covid-19-fatality-rates\/\">reports Reason\u2019s Jacob Sullum<\/a>. The key reason, according to new studies: We\u2019ve mastered treatment. Controlling for age, sex, comorbidities and other factors, NYU reseachers found that\u00a0the fatality rate fell from 25.6 percent in March to 7.6 percent in August \u2014 a 70 percent drop.\u201d Similarly accounting for outside factors, \u201cUniversity of Exeter Medical School statistician John Dennis and several other researchers .\u2009.\u2009. found \u2018a sustained decrease in mortality risk\u2019 between the first week of April and the end of the study, amounting to a drop of 9 percent a week for patients in intensive care units and 11 percent a week for patients in high intensive units.\u201d Three cheers for modern medicine!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Iconoclasts_A_Delusional_Liberal_Consensus\"><\/span>Iconoclasts: A Delusional Liberal Consensus<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/theweek.com\/articles\/946926\/how-liberal-consensus-exercises-power\">The Week\u2019s Matthew Walther laments<\/a> how \u201cto participate meaningfully in mainstream discourse surrounding the election, it has become necessary to deny the plain testimony of one\u2019s senses.\u201d As far as liberal <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>, academic and corporate institutions are concerned, all standards of fairness are gone. \u201cInstead of what is good for the goose being good for the gander,\u201d a new consensus \u201creflexively insists that the goose is a Russian operative.\u201d Allegations of sexual assault that were once supposed to be taken as gospel faith now are treated with skepticism \u2014 if the accused is a Democratic presidential nominee, that is. \u201cA few hundred Tea Party grandfathers protesting\u201d lockdowns must be repressed, while antifa riots are A-OK. Holocaust denial doesn\u2019t get banned on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>, but (The) Post reporting on Hunter Biden does. It all makes political life extremely difficult for those\u00a0who want to \u201csee the world for what it really is.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"From_the_right_Anonymous_Attacks_Democracy\"><\/span>From the right: Anonymous Attacks Democracy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>That Miles Taylor, the \u201cAnonymous\u201d resistance figure passed off by The New York Times as\u00a0a \u201csenior official,\u201d turned out to be just chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security should \u201cembarrass\u201d those who promoted that claim, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/editorials\/the-anti-democratic-implications-of-anonymous\">say the Washington Examiner\u2019s editors<\/a>. \u201cBut there are also disturbing aspects\u201d to this tale: \u201cFor all the talk of Trump upending norms of democracy,\u201d nothing the president \u201chas done represents a greater threat to democratic institutions than the idea that mid-level bureaucrats should have a pocket veto over decisions made by elected officials.\u201d Taylor argued that he and others were acting to thwart the president in order to \u201cpreserve our democratic institutions,\u201d but such attempts do the exact opposite. \u201cThose who portray themselves as heroic freedom fighters in the name of protecting institutions from Trump are, in reality, undermining those very institutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Election_desk_Dons_Next_Four_Years\"><\/span>Election desk: Don\u2019s Next Four Years?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThe odds are against him again, but Donald Trump has every intention of winning four more years in office,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/what-in-the-world-if-trump-wins-11603749240?mod=opinion_lead_pos11\">Walter Russell Mead writes in The Wall Street Journal<\/a>. So what will he do with his second term, if voters do hand him one? Well, for one thing, he will \u201clook to make his mark in foreign policy,\u201d as most second-term presidents do. Another likely product: four more chaotic years, like his first term.
