{"id":103069,"date":"2020-11-02T15:23:43","date_gmt":"2020-11-02T12:23:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/stocks-bounce-as-wall-street-braces-for-election-day\/"},"modified":"2020-11-02T15:23:43","modified_gmt":"2020-11-02T12:23:43","slug":"stocks-bounce-as-wall-street-braces-for-election-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/stocks-bounce-as-wall-street-braces-for-election-day\/","title":{"rendered":"#Stocks bounce as Wall Street braces for Election Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Stocks bounce as Wall Street braces for Election Day<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/11\/stocks-election.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n                        US stocks were set to rebound from a week of deep losses on Monday as investors prepared for Tuesday\u2019s contentious presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>Futures contracts tied to the Dow Jones industrial average climbed 445.00 points, or about 1.7 percent, to 26,839.00 as of 6:49 a.m. <span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif\">after fears about surging coronavirus infections around the world drove the blue-chip index to its worst week since March.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Futures for the benchmark S&amp;P 500 index were similarly up 1.4 percent as of 6:50 a.m., while futures on the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 were up roughly 1.2 percent, putting Wall Street on pace to follow gains in global markets after the opening bell.<\/p>\n<p>Monday\u2019s boost <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared fueled by strong economic data from China showing that country\u2019s manufacturing activity expanding for the eighth straight month in October. That counterbalanced market jitters after Germany, France and the UK brought back lockdowns to control the spread of the deadly coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>But investors are also bracing for all the uncertainty that Election Day could bring. Joe Biden is ahead of President Trump nationally but the race is tighter in key battleground states, raising the possibility that a winner won\u2019t be determined for days or weeks as election officials count large numbers of mail-in ballots cast amid the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA couple of fund manager surveys floating around the markets still have \u2018contested election\u2019 right up there with \u2018COVID-19\u2019 as the most significant market risks right now,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.axi.com\/au\/blog\/market-analysis\/markets-outlook-several-notable-events-but-only-one-headliner\">said Stephen Innes<\/a>, chief global market strategist at Axi. \u201cThe nervousness in asset markets going into Tuesday makes sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oil prices, however, took a hit Monday as the new lockdowns fueled concerns about demand for energy falling further.
