<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>       Shares in CureVac jumped higher on Monday, after the German biotech company said its experimental COVID-19 vaccine triggered a good immune response in humans in a Phase 1 clinical study, placing it on track to launch the final stage of testing before the end of 2020.<\/p>\n<p> T\u00fcbingen-based CureVac<br \/>\n        CVAC,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/219999729\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-2.09%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       said in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.curevac.com\/en\/2020\/11\/02\/curevac-reports-positive-interim-phase-1-data-for-its-covid-19-vaccine-candidate-cvncov\/\" class=\"icon none\">statement<\/a> that the strongest dose of the vaccine, known as CVnCoV, produced an immune response in volunteers comparable with patients who had recovered from being hospitalized with a case of COVID-19.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       The clinical data haven\u2019t yet been published in peer-review format.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very encouraged by the interim Phase 1 data,\u201d said Franz-Werner Haas, chief executive of CureVac. \u201cFollowing further data readouts and discussion with regulatory authorities, we remain fully committed and on track to initiate a pivotal Phase 2b\/3 trial before the end of 2020.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>CureVac\u2019s U.S.-listed shares, which trade on Nasdaq, rose 2.93% higher on Monday. <\/p>\n<p>CureVac is using the so-called messenger RNA (mRNA) <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach to develop a vaccine for COVID-19, which instruct cells to create proteins to generate an immune response protecting against a virus. <\/p>\n<p>No RNA vaccine has yet approach to develop a vaccine, including U.S. companies Moderna as well as BioNTech<br \/>\n        BNTX,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/214419716\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-1.45%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       and its partner Pfizer<br \/>\n        PFE,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/202877789\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+1.28%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       which started mass testing on humans in late <\/p>\n<p>Together, Pfizer and BioNTech say that they have the capacity to manufacture 100 million doses of their vaccine this year, and at least 1.3 billion doses in 2021. href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly well tolerated across all five tested doses \u2014 from 2 to 12 microgrammes \u2014 and induced increases in virus-neutralizing antibodies as well as the first signs of T-cell activation. T cells are a type of white blood cell that help destroy infection.<strong> <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Analysts and medical experts are paying close attention to these two metrics.<\/p>\n<p>The Phase 1 study has, to date, enrolled more than 250 healthy individuals aged 18 to 60 years in Germany and Belgium. CureVac intends to provide a detailed Phase\u00a01 data overview and publication in a scientific journal in the coming weeks. <\/p>\n<p>Some participants experienced side effects of headache, chills and muscle pain, with a smaller number of people reporting fever. \u201cAll reported events were transient and resolved rapidly, usually within 24 to 48 hours,\u201d CureVac said.<\/p>\n<p>CureVac went public on Nasdaq in August to accelerate the development of its vaccine.
