La La Anthony has come to Kim Kardashian\u2019s defense after the reality star flew her inner circle to a private island for her 40th birthday amid the ongoing pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Kardashian continues to get backlash for the trip<\/a>, Anthony \u2014 who attended the lavish getaway \u2014 told Entertainment Tonight<\/a>, \u201cI just know we live in a world where people are gonna have something to say about everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know what we\u2019re all doing individually when it comes to charities, when it comes to using our platforms, when it comes to voting, when it comes to prison reform, when it come to the millions of things that we\u2019re doing,\u201d the 39-year-old TV personality continued. \u201cWe try to just help the world in general<\/a>, and that\u2019s what matters to me. It\u2019s not just about going on an island and taking a beautiful picture. I mean, there\u2019s a lot more to what all of us do in our day-to-day lives than that. That\u2019s what matters. I\u2019d rather amplify that side of what we\u2019re doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anthony said the trip was a \u201cgreat experience\u201d and was \u201cso app<\/a>reciative\u201d to be included, especially when the country is going through a pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201c\u2026it\u2019s nice to just take that little break from the chaos and be able to step away and just genuinely have a good time,\u201d she explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

The MTV alum also said that the trip is indicative of Kardashian\u2019s generous nature.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s exactly who she is. So anyone who knows her, knows she goes above and beyond for the people she loves and cares about. She\u2019s like me. We just want everyone to have a good time and we\u2019re having fun when everyone else is having fun.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The trip cost the SKIMS founder $1 million, flying her family and friends on a private jet to The Brando resort in Tahiti.<\/p>\n

Kardashian shared photos<\/a> from the over-the-top extravaganza and was widely mocked for writing alongside them: \u201cWe danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40\u201d<\/p>\n

Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian also defended her big sister on \u201cThe Ellen DeGeneres Show\u201d last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t heard a lot about it, but I did hear that people were upset that we all went out of town. I don\u2019t really know the extent of it,\u201d she said. \u201cBut this year is a frustrating year. I get it. I think there\u2019s so many frustrations going on for everybody. But also it\u2019s her 40th. This is something that she wanted to do for us. It was such a nice thing.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
