And now a potential conflict with Iran looms. Yet given the history, \u201cit is essential to think strategically about engagement with Iran rather than rattling sabers there.\u201d Otherwise, \u201cwe\u2019ve seen this movie before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the right: <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a>\u2019s Surrender<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Twitter\u2019s incoherent excuses for blocking The Post\u2019s account for sharing its Hunter Biden reporting prove that social-media companies sanctioning political speech \u201care often making up the rules as they go,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/twitters-living-censorship-11604263210?mod=opinion_lead_pos2\">observes The Wall Street Journal editorial board<\/a>. Twitter finally unlocked The Post on Friday, after weeks of defending its position by saying its policies are \u201cliving documents\u201d \u2014 clearly a farce, with its real goal \u201cto control American political debate on the fly.\u201d Ultimately, the \u201ccensors buckled under public scrutiny,\u201d which is \u201cgood <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> for independent journalism, even if most of the press won\u2019t recognize it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Libertarian: Kids, Parents Screwed Again<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Washington public schools were set to reopen next week, but \u201cLucy has yanked the football away again,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2020\/11\/02\/washington-dc-school-reopening-teachers-unions\/\">sighs Reason\u2019s Robby Soave<\/a>. DC again postponed in-person instruction after the teachers\u2019 union, opposing it, told teachers not to teach, even online, as a show of force. \u201cThis same dynamic \u2014 district announces a reopening date, teachers protest, district relents, working parents suffer \u2014 is playing out in large districts across the country.\u201d Yet \u201cwe know from schools that have reopened that doing so is relatively safe,\u201d while virtual education is a \u201cdisaster.\u201d The problem: Public-school teachers are paid \u201cregardless of whether they actually have to show up.\u201d Imagine if education dollars followed kids, \u201cinstead of automatically lining the pockets of institutions\u201d that don\u2019t serve students particularly well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Buchanan: Dems Will Eat Themselves<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cDemocratic Party is going to come apart,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/isi.org\/modern-age\/populisms-prophet-a-chat-with-pat-buchanan\/\">declares Pat Buchanan in an interview with Atilla Sulker at Modern Age<\/a>. Yes, the \u201crevolution that we\u2019re going through right now \u2014 social, cultural \u2014 is very strong. It\u2019s captured a far larger share of America\u2019s young than\u201d the 1960s revolution \u201cdid when I was writing statements for Richard Nixon about the \u00adColumbia takeover in\u201d April 1968. Now, a \u201csignificant slice of the younger generation\u201d is \u201ccaught up with being \u2018woke.\u2019\u200a\u201d But that could be temporary. The Democratic Party \u201cis a coalition of warring tribes held together by their common anticipation of common plunder. They want to get their piece of action out of it. And I don\u2019t know that they can all satisfy each other.\u201d If those under the Dem tent begin to eat themselves, we could see \u201ca new political configuration\u201d as soon as 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ed reformer: G&amp;T Done Right Boon for Minorities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those who \u201cinsist that the anti-racist thing to do is eliminate\u201d gifted-andtalented education are taking \u201cexactly the wrong <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fordhaminstitute.org\/national\/commentary\/gifted-education-done-right-benefits-black-and-hispanic-children-its-not\">Brandon L. Wright explains in a Fordham Institute post<\/a>. Yes, gifted ed \u201chas a diversity problem,\u201d but it isn\u2019t \u201cinherently racist.\u201d Rather, we \u201chave long done a poor job of maximizing the potential of students in low-income neighborhoods that are predominantly black and Hispanic.\u201d Worse, critics have gotten G&amp;T killed mainly in urban districts \u2014 so better-off suburban kids still benefit, \u00adincreasing the achievement gap.
