\n A 37-year-old Queens woman initially thought to have committed suicide, died from a \u201cvicious\u201d beating from her jealous boyfriend who accused her of cheating, according to police and prosecutors.<\/p>\n

Danielle Marrano and 34-year-old beau Shmuel Levine were arguing inside her apartment on Ocean Promenade in Rockaway Park around 2:30 p.m. October 26 when things turned violent, according to the Queens District Attorney\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Levine allegedly put Marrano in a chokehold, prosecutors said. Her mangled body was found on the ground several floors below her window, cops said.<\/p>\n

She suffered at least four skull fractures that contributed to her death \u2014 at least two of which were inconsistent with injuries sustained during a fall, according to prosecutors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The city medical examiner\u2019s office <\/span>determined that Marrano\u2019s injuries were caused by \u201cunnatural blunt force trauma,\u201d and the death was ruled a homicide, according to police.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Levine told authorities that he and Marrano \u201cgot into an argument about her cheating on me,\u201d according to a criminal complaint.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI told her I couldn\u2019t take it anymore,\u201d Levine allegedly said. \u201cShe admitted to cheating on me and so then I said, \u2018Can I see your phone?\u2019 She wouldn\u2019t give me the phone and so I forcefully tried to get the phone from her and she fought back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI put my hands around her because I just wanted to get the phone,\u201d he admitted, according to the complaint. \u201cI was wrestling with her for the phone. I grabbed her to try and get to the phone and she was kicking me. She was on the floor.\u201d<\/p>\n

He claimed that the whole ordeal \u201clasted for about a minute.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was not my intention to put her in a chokehold, it was to get the phone,\u201d he claimed. \u201cI grabbed the back of her hair because I was desperate to get the phone. Yes, there was a physical altercation to get the phone. I choked her with one arm for two to three seconds and she was screaming \u2018No.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Authorities found hair that app<\/a>eared to match Marrano\u2019s, as well as a large dent in the wall of the apartment, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n

Marrano was pronounced dead about six hours after the incident at Jamaica Hospital.<\/p>\n

A Queens County grand jury indicted Levine on a second-degree murder charge, and he is expected to be arraigned next week, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n

If convicted, he could spend 25 years to life behind bars, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis woman\u2019s last moments of life were brutal,\u201d Queens DA Melinda Katz said in a statement. \u201cThe defendant allegedly resorted to vicious, physical violence to resolve a quarrel. The defendant has been charged accordingly and is in custody.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
