\nThe battle between Britney Spears<\/strong> and her dad\u00a0is escalating even further \u2014 possibly to the point of no return!<\/p>\n

Up until now, while Brit has been trying to take back some measure of control over the conservatorship that has ruled her life for more than a decade, she wasn\u2019t trying to totally remove her father\u2019s power. She had been content to allow Jamie Spears<\/strong> to stay on as co-conservator of her estate alongside the Bessemer Trust Company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Now, though, the pop star is done playing nice. She officially wants Jamie OUT as co-conservator \u2014 FOR GOOD.<\/p>\n

The reason behind the dramatic shift listed in court documents obtained by TMZ<\/em> regards some shady business dealings. The Lucky<\/em> singer\u2019s legal team claimed her management company, TriStar Sports and Entertainment Group<\/strong>, abruptly quit on October 28 with no prior notice. Jamie then hired Michael Kane<\/strong> of Miller Kaplan<\/strong> to replace Tristar without giving Britney any say in the matter (no heads up, no interview, no other management options).<\/p>\n

The docs accused Jamie of trying \u201cto introduce a new gatekeeper who admittedly has a major working relationship with [Jamie\u2019s] legal team.\u201d Per TMZ<\/em>, the 38-year-old felt this was part of her dad\u2019s ongoing attempts to \u201cretain full functional control of her assets, books and records.\u201d<\/p>\n

This news<\/a> comes shortly after Jamie Lynn Spears<\/strong> withdrew her own petition to take more control of her sister\u2019s finances. In August, the Nickelodeon<\/strong> alum filed to have Britney\u2019s assets placed in \u201cblocked accounts\u201d by Fidelity Financial Management<\/strong>, and have them serve as advisers for her investments.<\/p>\n

We knew the Spears family was REALLY divided over the conservatorship, but it\u2019s hard to tell exactly where everyone falls on the issue. It\u2019s probably safe to say mom Lynne Spears<\/strong> is on Brit\u2019s side, as she signed off on her daughter\u2019s choice to bring in the Bessemer Trust.<\/p>\n

With Jamie Lynn, it\u2019s unclear what her motives were \u2014 but her involvement definitely made #FreeBritney followers suspicious, especially considering her close relationship with manager Lou Taylor<\/strong>, who was instrumental in instating the conservatorship in the first place. Taylor also happ<\/a>ens to be the CEO of TriStar\u2026 aka, the company that just dropped Brit like a hot potato.<\/p>\n

Whatever\u2019s going on, it\u2019s definitely a complicated web, and it seems like a good thing Britney is trying to untangle it! Luckily, she recently won a small victory allowing her to beef up her legal team, so she\u2019ll be better able to face off with her pops.<\/p>\n

The whole world seems to be watching this case unfold \u2014 we\u2019re just keeping our fingers crossed that it all works out for our girl in the end!<\/p>\n
