This Saturday night (November 7), Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Whitney Houston, the Notorious B.I.G, the Doobie Brothers, and T. Rex are getting inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Ahead of the ceremony, Amazon Music<\/a> has recruited various artists to cover some of the inductees\u2019 songs.<\/p>\n

St. Vincent has covered Nine Inch Nails\u2019 \u201cPiggy,\u201d while Jehnny Beth takes on NIN\u2019s \u201cCloser.\u201d Real Estate play the Doobie Brothers\u2019 \u201cWhat a Fool Believes In.\u201d The Kills covered T. Rex\u2019s \u201cCosmic Dancer.\u201d And Eyelids put their spin on Depeche Mode\u2019s \u201cEnjoy the Silence.\u201d Hear the covers below. [\u201cPiggy\u201d] remains one of my favorite Nails songs to this day.\u2026 I am obsessed with the slinky tambourine that is just a little lazy in feel. And when I took this song apart to cover it, it took me a long time to really understand the immensity of the groove. It\u2019s a dark, industrial reggae. Muscular, but never as distorted as you imagined it when you think of it in your head\u2026. They made a complicated thing seem easy and made big, bold sonic choices.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony premieres on HBO and HBO Max on Saturday, beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern. St. Vincent is among the artists participating in the ceremony.<\/p>\n
