If this option is grayed out in Settings, though, there\u2019s a way to fix it.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Problem\"><\/span>The Problem<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Normally, when you want to run an untrusted shortcut, you have to visit Settings &gt; Shortcuts, and then toggle-On \u201cAllow Untrusted Shortcuts.\u201d But, if you\u2019ve never run a Shortcut before, you\u2019ll find that the \u201cAllow Untrusted Shortcuts\u201d option is grayed out and you can\u2019t toggle the switch under \u201cSharing Security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-699408\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/xgreyed_out.jpg.pagespeed.gp+jp+jw+pj+ws+js+rj+rp+rw+ri+cp+md.ic.FUnsRewb4o.jpg\" alt=\"An example of &quot;Allow Untrusted Shortcuts&quot; greyed out in Settings on iPhone and iPad\" width=\"650\" height=\"184\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Enable_%E2%80%9CAllow_Untrusted_Shortcuts%E2%80%9D_When_Its_Grayed_Out\"><\/span>How to Enable \u201cAllow Untrusted Shortcuts\u201d When It\u2019s Grayed Out<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To activate \u201cAllow Untrusted Shortcuts\u201d in Settings, you first have to run a shortcut\u2014any shortcut at all\u2014in the Shortcuts <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>. Sometimes, it\u2019s easiest to just pick and run a shortcut from the Gallery.<\/p>\n<p>First, open Shortcuts. If you can\u2019t find it, swipe downward with one finger in the middle of the screen, and then type \u201cshortcuts\u201d in the Spotlight search bar. To do so, though, you\u2019ll have to receive a link to the shortcut from someone else.
