In his speech, Phillips said the Progressive Conservative plan \u201cprovides <strong>as much certainty as possible<\/strong> in an uncertain time, ensuring that we are always there to support those who need it most.\u201d Liberals have taken a hit for not forecasting Canada\u2019s fiscal future beyond a single year.<\/p>\n<p>Phillips, by contrast, offers three-year projections. His budget forecasts a $33-billion deficit next year and <strong>$100 billion more debt<\/strong> by 2023, and predicts Ontario\u2019s GDP will decline by<strong> 6.5 per cent<\/strong> this year before bouncing back at a <strong>4.9-per-cent clip<\/strong> next year. The province\u2019s <strong>debt-to-GDP ratio<\/strong> will rise to 49.6\u00a0per\u00a0cent by 2023.\u00a0<strong><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QWfGg4NesdI\">Watch the full budget speech<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A new poll from <strong>Abacus Data<\/strong>\u00a0pegged PC support at 36 per cent, a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/abacusdata.ca\/ontario-pcs-ford-approval-vote-budget\/\"><strong>seven-point advantage<\/strong><\/a> over their closest opposition. And that rival is once again the Liberals instead of the New Democrats who surged to Official Opposition status in 2018. The Tories <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear competitive in Toronto, where they\u2019re down three points to the Liberals and nine ahead of the NDP.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep on truckin\u2019:<\/strong> Rumours of the demise of Ontario\u2019s auto industry appear to have been premature.\u00a0<strong>Jerry Dias<\/strong>, the head of the union that represents thousands of workers, showed off a new deal that\u2019ll see <strong>General Motors<\/strong> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cp24.com\/news\/1-3b-gm-deal-will-return-vehicle-production-to-oshawa-plant-unifor-says-1.5175832\">re-open its assembly plant<\/a> in Oshawa\u2014and build the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra. The investment clocks in at <strong>$1.3 billion<\/strong>, which builds on Ford\u2019s announcement last month of a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thelogic.co\/news\/the-big-read\/fords-1-8-billion-gambit-the-electric-vehicle-revolution-is-coming-to-oakville-what-does-that-mean-for-auto-workers\/\">$1.8-billion plan<\/a> to build electric vehicles in Oakville (with fed-prov assistance). Dias claims the new shift will create more than <strong>2,000 jobs<\/strong>. Flavio Volpe, the head of the auto parts manufacturers association, credited new NAFTA\/CUSMA\/USMCA provisions for the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-gm-to-reopen-oshawa-assembly-plant-will-spend-13-billion-to-retool\/\">flurry of spending<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Days after a terrorist attack in France that authorities have blamed on extremists who were enraged by caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed appearing in the pages of satirical mag\u00a0<em>Charlie Hebdo<\/em>,\u00a0<strong>Justin Trudeau<\/strong> offended much of France by supporting limits on free speech.
