\n However this election turns out once the vote-counters and the lawyers finish up, it was once again a shock to all the establishment media who confidently predicted a Joe Biden romp that would likely produce a Democratic Senate and add to Nancy Pelosi\u2019s House majority. But does anyone think that yet another shock, following 2016, will lead them to change their ways?<\/p>\n

Ha! The next week or three may see another round of 2016-style mea culpas and vows to do better at paying attention to the working-class voters \u2014 white, Latino and even black \u2014 who supported Trump. But they\u2019ll soon be back to treating Black Lives Matter and AOC as the only authentic voices of blacks and Hispanics.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll take any Biden win as a return to \u201cnormalcy\u201d and license to treat the whole Trump era like an aberration to be whitewashed away \u2014 and all Trump\u2019s voters as deplorables to be ignored if not reeducated. And they\u2019ll tar any Republican who voices even a hint of Trumpism as a \u201cracist\u201d who\u2019s maybe a bit more polished.<\/p>\n

If the president ekes out a victory, they\u2019ll simply go back into attack mode \u2014 once again blaring out awful charges based on anonymous, unverifiable sources (none of which will trigger \u201cunreliable\u201d warnings, let alone a block, from Facebook or Twitter).<\/p>\n

In short, they\u2019ll drop any introspection at the first controversy or \u201cscandal\u201d to push their progressive buttons. None of them will make any real changes in how they present \u201cthe facts that matter,\u201d just because they were badly wrong about yet another election.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
