“#New Paltz cop suspended for performing offensive rap in uniform<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n An upstate cop has been suspended for performing a rap song \u2014 that disparaged transgender people and called for Hillary Clinton to be \u201changed\u201d \u2014 while in uniform and posting the video online, according to a report.<\/p>\n

New Paltz officer Robert Sisco is seen in the 70-second clip with his name emblazoned on his vest as he sits in a car and sounds off.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, hi, hello, this is officer Bob. Last name Sisco, first name Rob,\u201d he sings.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a man of many talents so many talents in fact. I know you\u2019re thinking that I\u2019m black so of course I can rap. Well that\u2019s partially true and the truth does hurt,\u201d he continues.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo I\u2019m not Will Smith so f\u2014- I\u2019m gonna curse. Spit facts over feelings because you\u2019re feelings are irrelevant. There\u2019s only two genders and Trump\u2019s still your president.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBoys have a penis and girls have a vagina,\u201d he continues. \u201cThis whole coronavirus was sent here from China.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHillary is Killary, we all know the reason. Where those emails at? We should hang her for treason,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

In a later verse, he sings, \u201cJust because I\u2019m a cop it doesn\u2019t mean that I\u2019m bad \u2026 but I\u2019d rather use my words than resorting to violence.\u201d<\/p>\n

The video caused an uproar in the Ulster County community of about 14,000 residents 90 miles north of New York City.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the Town Board said. \u201cWe are so sorry that the trust of many in our community has been broken and that their safety feels threatened.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one in our town should have to feel that way about our police. \u2026 We are all committed to repairing trust with our New Paltz transgender and LGBTQ community members,\u201d it added, according to the Daily Freeman.<\/p>\n

Town Supervisor Neil Bettez Bettez told the news<\/a> outlet that Sisco has been placed on paid administrative leave pending a police investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI assume it was a police vehicle. If it wasn\u2019t, he should tell us \u2026 It was filmed while he was on duty, and it\u2019s up to him to prove to us it\u2019s not, and to me that\u2019s the issue,\u201d Bettez told the Daily Freeman. \u201cPeople can do stupid things if they want, but not on my time in a town car. That\u2019s why he\u2019s in trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added; \u201cWe want to make people feel safe. \u2026 We were the first town to have same sex-marriage. We like to think we\u2019re a role model. \u2026 We take it personally.\u201d<\/p>\n

The supervisor cited several peaceful protests in New Paltz in the wake of George Floyd\u2019s death while in custody of Minneapolis police, saying the officer \u201cshould know better than to [inflame tensions] now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bettez added that the incident has led him to question his \u201cfaith\u201d in the police.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis makes it harder to just give [police] the benefit of the doubt. \u2026 We need to rebuild trust,\u201d he told the Daily Freeman.<\/p>\n

Police Chief Robert Lucchesi told the paper the internal probe has begun, adding that \u201cbecause I play a role in the process, it would be improper for me to say something in relation to this investigation while it\u2019s playing out.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
