“#Stevie Nicks rocks with Miley Cyrus on ‘Edge of Midnight’ remix<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n Now this<\/em> is the stuff of dreams.<\/p>\n

Pop princess Miley Cyrus<\/a>, 27, and Fleetwood Mac queen Stevie Nicks, 72, have teamed up for \u201cEdge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix).\u201d<\/p>\n

The cross-generational collaboration mashes up Cyrus\u2019 current single \u201cMidnight Sky\u201d with Nicks\u2019 1981 classic \u201cEdge of Seventeen\u201d from her debut solo album, \u201cBella Donna.\u201d<\/p>\n

And from the moment it starts with that signature guitar riff \u2014 famously sampled by Destiny\u2019s Child on \u201cBootylicious\u201d \u2014 all the white-winged doves descend upon you, taking you to the edge of heaven.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s almost worth it simply for the single cover art, which shows a young Nicks rubbing up against Cyrus, back to back in black. Thank you, Photoshop.<\/p>\n

\u201cMidnight Sky\u201d \u2014 the first single from Cyrus\u2019 upcoming album \u201cPlastic Hearts,\u201d due Nov. 27<\/a> \u2014 instantly sparked comparisons to Nicks when it was originally released in August.<\/p>\n

The \u201cEdge of Midnight\u201d remix continues the retro kick that Cyrus has been on lately. The \u201cWrecking Ball\u201d singer covered Blondie\u2019s \u201cHeart of Glass\u201d at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in September, and her version went over so well with Smilers \u2014 as her faithful fans are called \u2014 that it was then released<\/a> to stream and download<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And \u201cEdge of Midnight\u201d continues the cross-generational collaborative spirit that Cyrus has been in: She paired up with her godmother Dolly Parton for a holiday tune, \u201cChristmas Is,\u201d released last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One can only dream that Cyrus and Nicks will collaborate on some new material one day \u2014 or, here\u2019s an idea, maybe even tour together.<\/p>\n

Until then, just let the \u201cOoh, baby oohs\u201d wash over you.<\/p>\n
