But on sites like clean-sell.com consumers are led to believe they can purchase products like Lysol\u2019s Max Cover Disinfectant Spray for just $0.80.<\/p>\n<p> Elsewhere on sites like Amazon<br \/>\n        AMZN,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210331248\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.32%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       Home Depot<br \/>\n        HD,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/208081807\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.56%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       and Target<br \/>\n        TGT,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/207799045\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+1.80%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       that same product, which is priced above $6, is out of stock.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       The clean-sell.com site, along with 24 others, received notices from the Federal Trade Commission on Thursday alleging that they were \u201cplaying on consumers\u2019 COVID-19 pandemic fears to trick them into paying for Clorox and Lysol products that the defendants never deliver.\u201d In some cases, the sites are charging more than $1,000 for their products, the FTC alleged. <\/p>\n<p>The majority of these sites were inactive as of Thursday afternoon. MarketWatch reached out to clean-sell.com and other sites that were still active but could not reach anyone for comment because the site\u2019s phone numbers and email addresses were inoperable.<\/p>\n<p>All 25 websites were issued a temporary restraining order by a federal court in Ohio, at the FTC\u2019s request.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FTC believes the defendants illegally charged consumers thousands of dollars for Clorox and Lysol products that they never delivered,\u201d the agency said in a statement Thursday.
