\n A man was stabbed during a fight in the West Village as raucous protesters circled the neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The stabbing, which app<\/a>eared to be unrelated to the protests, happened at 7th Avenue and Christopher Street around 11:40 p.m. Friday, police said.<\/p>\n

The victim, 37, told police he was arguing with another man, who knifed him three times in the back with an unknown sharp object, according to police.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals\/Bellevue to be treated for his injuries.<\/p>\n

The attacker ran, cops said.<\/p>\n

The stabbing happened amid election-related and Black Lives Matter protests at Washington Square Park and on the surrounding streets nearby. The protests were largely peaceful, with just one person arrested, police said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
