\n In a rousing speech Saturday night \u2014 her first as the nation\u2019s vice president elect \u2014 Kamala Harris praised Joe Biden as \u201ca man with a big heart who loves with abandon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to a cheering crowd in Wilmington, Del., Harris lauded the 74 million Americans who voted for the ticket.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou chose hope and unity, decency,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd yes, truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

To long cheers, Harris noted that her election as the first woman to ascend to the vice presidency will be an inspiration.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile\u00a0I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibility,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDream with ambition. Lead with conviction, and see yourselves in a way that others may not,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow is when the real work begins,\u201d she added, before introducing Biden to the stage.<\/p>\n
