Marianne Pfeiffer, the plucky 95-year-old grandmother of state Trooper Dane Pfeiffer, the gubernatorial bodyguard reportedly dating Cara Kennedy Cuomo, says Gov. Cuomo is being \u201cridiculous\u201d if he had her \u201cwonderful\u201d grandson transferred from the Executive Mansion to a post near the Canadian border.<\/p>\n

And she had this word of advice for the overbearing Albany papa: You can\u2019t veto true love.<\/p>\n

The Post reported last month that the hot-headed pol ordered the transfer of the 35-year-old hunk from his security detail in order \u201cto keep him away from\u201d his 25-year-old daughter. \u201cThe governor didn\u2019t like whatever they were doing,\u201d said a source familiar with the situation.<\/p>\n

But the State Police insisted Pfeiffer requested a \u201cvoluntary transfer\u201d in May to Troop B in northeastern New York, where he began his career in 2015.<\/p>\n

Grandma Pfeiffer provided no clarity on the transfer, but defended the couple.<\/p>\n

\u201cDane has always been a wonderful, lovely, kind and considerate person,\u201d she said from her home in Lyme, Conn. \u201cAnybody who knows him loves him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She called Cara a \u201cwonderful girl,\u201d and said she and her grandson \u201chave a lot in common. They love dogs, the outdoors \u2026 She\u2019s got everything Dane likes in a woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked what those traits were, Marianne Pfeiffer demured, \u201cI think we have discussed this quite long enough.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But she added, \u201cBoth of them love America and want to do the best they possibly can.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The feisty Pfeiffer said contrary to news<\/a> reports, the couple has been an item \u201cfor a long time\u201d and even discussed marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy advice is if they really want to get married, that\u2019s what they should do,\u201d the nonagenarian noted. \u201cThey have spoken about it in the past.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As for the notion that Cuomo banished Dane, she said, \u201cI think he\u2019s being ridiculous because he\u2019s always been a good friend of the family \u2014 and a good friend of Dane.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes words are used that are not necessarily the same words you would use,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m not sure that whole thing really happ<\/a>ened the way [the media] said.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She added, \u201cI don\u2019t want to comment anymore because it\u2019s only going to make the situation worse.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sources said Pfeiffer and Kennedy-Cuomo began dating about eight months ago \u2014 after she moved into the mansion in Albany due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

Pfeiffer \u2014 who has a home in nearby Saratoga Springs \u2014 routinely returns to the mansion to pick up Kennedy-Cuomo for dates, which further upsets the governor, a source told The Post.<\/p>\n

Perhaps Gov. Cuomo should brush up on his backhand.<\/p>\n

The athletic Pfeiffer is a former tennis pro with washboard abs. He played the sport while a student at Skidmore College.<\/p>\n

Dane Pfeiffer has declined comment. And he\u2019s not enjoying the headlines, said the grandmother, who spoke to him a few days ago.<\/p>\n
