\n A nonpartisan advisory board on presidential transitions urged President Trump to begin the transition process \u2014 one day after his electoral defeat to Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe urge the Trump administration to immedia<\/a>tely begin the post-election transition process and the Biden team to take full advantage of the resources available under the Presidential Transition Act,\u201d the Center for Presidential Transition wrote in a Sunday letter.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was a hard-fought campaign, but history is replete with examples of presidents who emerged from such campaigns to graciously assist their successors,\u201d the group said.<\/p>\n

Trump has so far refused to concede the election to Biden, who on Saturday was projected to be the next president.<\/p>\n

Instead, the president has repeatedly claimed Biden won by \u201cillegal votes.\u201d On Sunday, Trump\u2019s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, said he intends to file up to 10 last-ditch lawsuits alleging election fraud.<\/p>\n

Adding to the presidential transition delay, Biden has yet to be formally recognized as the president-elect by the General<\/a> Services Administration, an independent federal government agency tasked with doing so.<\/p>\n

The agency\u2019s administrator, Emily Murphy, was app<\/a>ointed to her position by Trump.<\/p>\n
