\n As one of five members of Portland\u2019s City Council, Dan Ryan cast the deciding vote against defunding the city\u2019s cops \u2014 who had to return the favor only hours later as lefty goons attacked Ryan\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

Two commissioners (as they\u2019re titled) voted to cut the Portland Police Department\u2019s budget by $18 million, or 8 percent, Thursday. Ryan provided the third vote against.<\/p>\n

Whereupon the city\u2019s pestiferous \u201cprotesters\u201d marched to his house, shouting, shattering glass and lighting flares on his front lawn.<\/p>\n

Police showed up rapidly to break up the mini-riot. But this was the fourth night in a single week that these goons targeted the commissioner\u2019s home and neighborhood. Mayor Ted Wheeler had to move to spare his neighbors from these mobs.<\/p>\n

The commissioners who sided with Ryan condemned the violence \u2014 and newly elected Commissioner Mingus Mapp<\/a>s hosted a video conference with several other black Portland leaders calling for an end to \u201cthe campaign of intimidation and vandalism.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, the overwhelmingly white mobs won\u2019t listen \u2014 and Portland\u2019s elected officials refuse to truly crack down, regularly springing those arrested for vandalism with no jail time.<\/p>\n

Portland PD morale is in the basement, with retirements soaring. If city officials don\u2019t get serious, there may soon be no cops left to protect them from the goons.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
