You can even make it always-on-top above your gameplay. See what\u2019s wasting resources and end tasks without Alt+Tabbing out of your game.<\/p>\n<p>This article shows off the \u201cResources\u201d widget in Windows 10\u2019s built-in Game Bar. Microsoft <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.xbox.com\/en-us\/2020\/10\/29\/xbox-game-bar-update-introducing-resources-widget\/\">added<\/a> this widget at the end of October 2020. Like all the tools in the so-called \u201cXbox Game Bar,\u201d it works everywhere in Windows\u2014even when you\u2019re not playing a game.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Open_the_Game_Bar_and_Launch_the_Resources_Widget\"><\/span>Open the Game Bar and Launch the Resources Widget<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To find this feature, you\u2019ll need to open the Xbox Game Bar. Press Windows+G to open it. Ensure the Game Bar is toggled \u201cOn\u201d at the top of this window. In its default form, it doesn\u2019t even show you numbers\u2014it just ranks processes by their impact. A process might have High, Medium, or Low impact.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re playing a game and want to free up resources, you can close a process that\u2019s using a significant amount of resources. To do so, either Alt+Tab out of the game and close it normally, or click the \u201cX\u201d to the process\u2019s in the Resources widget. You can click the header of any column to sort by it\u2014for example, to see the processes using the most CPU on top, click the \u201cCPU\u201d header.<\/p>\n<p>As with the more compact interface, you can click the \u201cX\u201d to the right of a process to forcibly close it. You could have a panel that shows you resource usage always on screen while you\u2019re playing a game or using any other Windows application.<\/p>\n<p>To pin the Resources widget\u2014or any other widget\u2014click the \u201cPin\u201d icon at the top-right corner of the widget window. It will now appear on screen even when you close the Game Bar.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll find more options for the Resource widget\u2019s appearance in its options window.
