Beyonc\u00e9 has teamed up with the trendy fitness startup to create a series<\/a> of themed workouts to honor historically black colleges and universities.<\/p>\n

The cycling, running, strength, bootcamp, yoga and meditation classes will be a tribute to the annual homecoming celebrations at the schools known as HBCUs, which also inspired Beyonce\u2019s 2019 live album and documentary. They\u2019ll be available on Peloton\u2019s high-end stationary bikes and treadmills as well as its mobile app, the company said Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been a Peloton member for several years, and I\u2019m excited to partner with a company that helps people, young and old, be the best versions of themselves, in an innovative and adaptable way,\u201d Beyonc\u00e9 said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The homecoming classes are just the first that the \u201cSingle Ladies\u201d singer will help develop through her partnership with Peloton, which has seen use of its home workout products explode during the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

Beyonc\u00e9 \u2014 who is the most requested musical artist among Peloton\u2019s more than 3.6 million members \u2014 will work with the New York-based company on \u201cvarious forms of class curation across all workout disciplines\u201d over the coming months, according to a news<\/a> release.<\/p>\n

Peloton did not immedia<\/a>tely disclose any financial terms of its collaboration with the 39-year-old Grammy winner. The announcement nevertheless sent its stock price up about 4.5 percent to $104.47 in premarket trading Tuesday following a 20.3 percent loss Monday.<\/p>\n

The partnership also has a charitable component \u2014 Peloton will give students at 10 HBCUs free two-year digital memberships by the end of November allowing them to access a library of classes that can be used with or without equipment.<\/p>\n

Peloton says it will also recruit students for internships from the schools, which include Bennett College, Clark Atlanta University, Grambling State University, Hampton University, Howard University, Morehouse College and Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College, Texas Southern University and Wilberforce University.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
