\n Canadian view: \u2018Saluting\u2019 the Republic of CHAZ<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Canada\u2019s National Post, Rex Murphy mocks the \u201cnewly freeborn citizens\u201d of the \u201cRepublic of the CHAZians\u201d \u2014 the protesters who have occupied a six-block section of Seattle, initially called the Capital Hill Autonomous Zone. The \u201cinfant state and its infant citizens,\u201d he sarcastically cheers, have finally \u201cliberated themselves from the demonic oppression\u201d of their \u201cnotoriously fascist\u201d city, \u201ca principality known to all as veering to the right of North Korea.\u201d Their \u201ccause is good,\u201d he snarks, though it serves as an \u201cexcusatory blanket\u201d for looters, vandals and thugs. For his part, Murphy believes in the \u201cancient idea\u201d that criminals should be \u201cpunished.\u201d But \u201cwe are in a strange and potentially dangerous time, especially when we give .\u2009.\u2009. app<\/a>roval to street vandals. Protesters think they are licensed to do anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

History desk: The Big Lie About America<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe orgy of destruction\u201d in \u201cthe wake of George Floyd\u2019s death has been justified by a lie\u201d that \u201cour educational system has peddled\u201d for \u201cmore than a generation,\u201d fumes Mackubin Owens at the Providence Journal: \u201cthat the United States is irredeemably racist to the core.\u201d At the time the nation was founded, \u201cslavery was a worldwide phenomenon.\u201d Yet America\u2019s inception was based on the claim that \u201chuman beings are equal in their possession of natural rights and that, accordingly, no one has the natural right to rule over another without the latter\u2019s consent.\u201d It\u2019s true we \u201chave not always lived up to our own principles.\u201d But while \u00adracism lives \u201camong individuals,\u201d the fact remains that \u201cthe founding principles of the United States are explicitly non-racist.\u201d<\/p>\n

From the right: The Affluent vs. the Rich<\/strong><\/p>\n

The current \u201csqualor\u201d in \u201cmilitia-occupied Seattle,\u201d where \u201cthe idiot children of the American ruling class\u201d are \u201cplaying poor,\u201d is \u201cclass camouflage,\u201d quips National Review\u2019s Kevin Williamson: The real class war in this country is not between \u201cthe poor and excluded\u201d and \u201cthe rich and the powerful,\u201d but rather the \u201cseriously rich\u201d and the \u201cmerely affluent.\u201d It\u2019s \u201cbusiness class vs. first class,\u201d in which all the participants are \u201ccomfortable.\u201d The call for firing New York Times opinion editor James Bennet, for example, \u201cdid not come from America\u2019s poor black communities\u201d but from Bennet\u2019s own \u201cunderlings and juniors.\u201d His replacement, unsurprisingly, was \u201ca well-off white woman\u201d who attended \u201celite colleges.\u201d Meanwhile, \u201cGeorge Floyd is still dead. Jacob Frey is still mayor of Minneapolis. Medaria Arradondo is still the chief of police.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mom: NYC Schools Taught My Son He\u2019s Racist<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAt the direction of Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza,\u201d charges Libby Emmons at The Post Millennial, a New York City public school used George Floyd\u2019s killing to teach her fourth-grade son and his class about \u201csystemic racism and white privilege\u201d \u2014 in a lesson that, far from decreasing racism, actually \u201cverges on instilling it.\u201d Her son, \u201cthe only white kid in the class,\u201d discovered that he and his \u201cwhole family\u201d are racist, \u201ceven if they don\u2019t think they are.\u201d The entire lesson was \u201cindoctrination,\u201d she blasts \u2014 one that will make kids \u201cthink they should divide themselves\u201d on racial and other grounds. Instead of teaching 10-year-olds \u201ccritical race theory,\u201d why not teach them \u201chow all people are created equal\u201d and that \u201cwe should meet each other where we stand\u201d?<\/p>\n

From the left: Biden\u2019s \u2018Boring\u2019 Advantage<\/strong><\/p>\n

President Trump may not want to keep \u201csmearing\u201d Democratic nominee Joe Biden as \u201cSleepy Joe,\u201d Keith Naughton warns at The Hill: For Biden, the term is \u201cnot an insult\u201d but \u201can asset.\u201d In fact, coming off as \u201cboring and sleepy\u201d after the \u201ctumultuous\u201d Trumpian years may wind up winning the ex-veep the presidency \u2014 just as being \u201cthe nice, safe, boring alternative\u201d to Bernie Sanders won him the nomination. Trump\u2019s decision to \u201camplify the storm\u201d amid the pandemic and the protests has led Americans to give him \u201cpoor marks in dealing with both issues.\u201d And \u201cthe public is sick\u201d of his tweeting. \u201cAll this adds up to a public looking for a respite from the tempest.\u201d Yes, \u201cBiden is boring \u2014 and it\u2019s working.\u201d<\/p>\n
