\n Jason Momoa says he went broke and couldn\u2019t find another acting gig for years after playing Khal Drogo on HBO\u2019s \u201cGame of Thrones.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, we were starving after \u2018Game of Thrones,’\u201d Momoa, 41, said in a new InStyle interview<\/a>. \u201cI couldn\u2019t get work. It\u2019s very challenging when you have babies and you\u2019re completely in debt.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor, who shares two children with wife Lisa Bonet, said he struggled to pay the bills at his Topanga Canyon house until he landed a role on \u201cJustice League\u201d in 2016.<\/p>\n

Now, Momoa is a leading man, having starred in the titular role for \u201cAquaman,\u201d but very early in his career, he struggled to book acting jobs, too.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

When his first gig, \u201cBaywatch Hawaii,\u201d wrapp<\/a>ed in 2001, Momoa moved to Los Angeles, but said he \u201ccouldn\u2019t even get an agent for three or four years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Because of his past experiences, Momoa doesn\u2019t take his new opportunities for granted.<\/p>\n

After watching the trailer for his latest film, \u201cDune,\u201d he said, \u201cIt was \u2018Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem,\u2019 and I\u2019m just like, \u2018Oh my God. I can\u2019t believe my name was with those names.\u2019 I feel like I\u2019m still a kid, freaking out.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
