Hillary Clinton and Jimmy Carter called Trump \u201cillegitimate.\u201d Biden agreed. Rep. Jerry Nadler (and a third of House Democrats) boycotted Trump\u2019s inauguration because he wasn\u2019t \u00ad\u201clegitimate,\u201d while Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the president tried to \u201ccorrupt\u201d the 2016 election. Nor are Trump\u2019s backers different from the 33 percent of Clinton voters who denied that Trump was legitimately elected. As for demands Trump provide evidence, they\u2019re from \u201cthe same people who spent years\u201d accusing him of \u201cbeing a Russian agent without any evidence whatsoever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Election desk: America Thumped Far Left<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Democratic Party\u2019s left wing \u201cpredicted that only the likes of Bernie Sanders could mobilize enough voters to achieve victory,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/spectator.us\/collapse-american-left-progressivism-biden\/\">observes Mark Gettleson at Spectator USA<\/a>. Whoops: The man at the top of the party\u2019s ticket, Joe Biden, won on a relatively \u201ccentrist platform\u201d and scorned the \u201cmore extreme parts of the progressive agenda.\u201d The hard left\u2019s repudiation in House races was still more decisive. Yes, many \u201cstrong progressives\u201d did well \u2014 but they \u201care almost always in dense, urban, heavily Democratic districts.\u201d In key suburban districts, \u201cmany Republicans voted . . . to remove Trump, but couldn\u2019t stomach voting Democratic down the ballot.\u201d And that\u2019s \u201chighly inconvenient for many on the far left.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Culture Critic: \u2018Safe\u2019 Borat Bombs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sacha Baron Cohen\u2019s new \u201cBorat\u201d sequel falls flat, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tabletmag.com\/sections\/arts-letters\/articles\/sacha-baron-cohen-borat-2\">fumes Leil Leibovitz at Tablet<\/a>, because it targets \u201ca gaggle of poor, working-class dudes whose livelihoods were lost to the pandemic. A Hollywood millionaire razzing on guys earning $36,000 a year and struggling to survive: This is what passes for subversive comedy these days.\u201d Strange: An \u201castute satirist, wishing nothing more than telling truth to power\u201d about \u201cthe ways America has changed\u201d since the first film, might zing \u201cthe unfettered growth of an oligopoly made up by five companies that now govern everything from the way we buy shoes to the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> we receive\u201d or \u201csafe spaces and trigger warnings and all the rest of the inanities that have turned our higher education into a simpering morass of weak minds and bad faith.\u201d Nope: Cohen merely \u201crepeated the dogma of his class, which is the class that pays him: orange man bad, poor man racist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the left: The Flynn-Biden Double Standard<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is customary for post-election transition officials to work with their counterparts in foreign governments to lay the groundwork for relations with the new administration,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/greenwald.substack.com\/p\/obama-official-ben-rhodes-admits\">notes blogger Glenn Greenwald<\/a>. Any \u201cdoubts about how customary\u201d were \u201cunintentionally obliterated on Monday night by former Obama national-security official Ben Rhodes,\u201d who revealed on MSNBC that \u201cforeign leaders are already having phone calls with Joe Biden talking about the agenda they\u2019re going to pursue Jan. 20.\u201d Yet \u201cthe FBI investigated Gen. Michael Flynn when he was\u201d a Trump transition official \u201cfor the possible \u2018crime\u2019 of talking to Russia about foreign policy.\u201d It\u2019s obvious the FBI\u2019s \u201cblatantly improper attempt to convert a normal conversation by a transition official into a form of treason\u201d served as a \u201cpretext for further abuse\u201d of its powers as it sought \u201cto interfere in the 2016 election and then sabotage the Trump administration before it even began.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Libertarian: Biden\u2019s Mandate Malarkey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/volokh\/2020\/11\/07\/does-biden-have-a-mandate-should-it-matter\/\">At Reason, law professor Ilya Somin questions<\/a> Joe Biden\u2019s claim that he has \u201ca mandate for action.\u201d Exit polls show 30 percent of Biden voters backed him primarily to oppose President Trump.
