rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/klain-biden-white-house\/2020\/11\/11\/3c64069a-21d3-11eb-a688-5298ad5d580a_story.html\" class=\"icon none\">Washington Post<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/11\/11\/us\/politics\/ron-klain-biden.html\" class=\"icon none\">New York Times <\/a>first reported the move, and Biden\u2019s transition team made <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/buildbackbetter.com\/press-releases\/president-elect-joe-biden-names-ron-klain-as-white-house-chief-of-staff\/\" class=\"icon none\">an official announcement<\/a> soon after.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       \u201cRon Klain\u2019s deep, varied experience and capacity to work with people all across the political spectrum is precisely what I need in a White House chief of staff as we confront this moment of crisis and bring our country together again,\u201d Biden <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoeBiden\/status\/1326696150364286976\" class=\"icon none\">said in a tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Klain, 59, is a lawyer and longtime adviser to Democratic presidents, vice presidents and candidates, including Hillary Clinton, and was a top aide to Biden in the late 1980s.
