Don\u2019t even get us started on <\/i><i>Sam and Dean\u2019s (Padalecki and Ackles) even shorter-lived love <\/i><i>interests! But by Season 7, ladies who kicked as much ass as the Winchesters \u2014 and who weren\u2019t positioned as romantic partners \u2014 started coming into their own.<br \/><\/i><br \/><b>Eric Kripke: <\/b>[Early on] the biggest shows on The CW were soaps like <i>Gossip Girl<\/i>. The network said, \u201cYou need more romance,\u201d so we created all these sexy triangles, but our hearts were never in it. The fans didn\u2019t want anyone to get between Sam and Dean. But [Sheriff] Jody Mills [Kim Rhodes], she came in very organically.<\/p>\n<p><b>Kim Rhodes:<\/b> I was first hired for a guest role on [Season 5\u2019s] \u201cDead Men Don\u2019t Wear Plaid\u201d [March 25, 2010]. The writers gave Jody so much humanity. She\u2019s a hero of the Han Solo variety.<\/p>\n<p><b>Felicia Day: <\/b>I wasn\u2019t surprised at the reception [for lesbian hacker Charlie Bradbury, in Season 7] because she 100% fits the mold of a <i>Supernatural<\/i> fan. Charlie provided nonromantic support for the boys when they needed it. Very few people, especially women, are there for them as friends. They took care of her, and she took care of them.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2013_A_New_Home\"><\/span><strong>2013: A New Home<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><i>In Season 8, the duo reunite after Dean\u2019s stint in Purgatory, and Sam goes through a series of trials to close the gates of Hell, with help from prophet Kevin (Osric Chau). The Winchesters also find a semipermanent residence after years of motel surfing. In \u201cEv<\/i><i>erybody Hates Hitler\u201d (February 6, 2013), the boys learn their grandfather Henry (Gil McKinney) belonged to a scholarly off-the-books organization known as the Men of Letters. His Kansas-based bunker, packed with supernatural weapons and tomes, became the Winchester Bat Cave for the remainder of the series.<br \/><\/i><br \/><b>Current Co-Showrunner Andrew Dabb:<\/b> The Men of Letters was an idea that we\u2019d been playing with for about two years.<\/p>\n<p><b>Jensen Ackles: <\/b>[The bunker] was great for story purposes and it also gave the production team a breather \u2014 constantly building new motel sets was expensive and time-consuming. The day they were taking [the bunker] apart, it was really hard to watch. &#8230; I pulled one of the carpenters aside, and he was almost choked up.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2013%E2%80%9316_More_Heavens_More_Problems\"><\/span><strong>2013\u201316: More Heavens, More Problems?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><i>Carver took over as showrunner for Seasons<\/i><i> 8\u201311. Theology was the key <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theme<\/a>. To wit: Season 9\u2019s angelic civil war <\/i><i>fueled by the pot-<\/i><i>stirring scribe of God, Metatron (Curtis Armstrong), Dean\u2019s bloodlust due to the <\/i><i>Mark of Cain throughout Season 10 and <\/i><i>even Castiel (Misha Collins) becoming Lucifer\u2019s vessel in Season 11 \u2014 which also introduced reaper Billie (Lisa Berry).<br \/><\/i><br \/><b>Current Co-Showrunner Robert Singer: <\/b>I always thought we ran the risk of maybe offending some people with where we took the theology.<\/p>\n<p><b>Kripke: <\/b>Once in a while you would find a fringy group that was complaining. The <\/i><i>finale, \u201cAll Along the Watchtow<\/i><i>er\u201d (May 18, 2017), depicted the demise of Crowley <\/i>and<i> established the fourth and final member of \u201cTeam Free Will.\u201d Celestial being Jack Kline (Alexander Calvert), a Nephilim (a hybrid angel), was the son of human Kelly Kline (Courtney Ford) and Lucifer. When Kelly dies in childbirth, Cass brings the newborn to the bunker, where he forms a family with the angel and the boys \u2014 and grows into a mega-powerful teen in a matter of minutes. But Lucifer\u2019s plans to mold his son in his own image cause trouble for everyone, until Jack stands up to his dad.<br \/><\/i><br \/><b>Dabb: <\/b>It became pretty clear that the Men of Letters were a limited threat to Lucifer. The Kelly Kline story gave us Jack, who was all-powerful but a blank slate. It was also an opportunity to give Sam and Dean a kid and see how they rub off on him \u2014 for good and for bad. So much of <i>Supernatural <\/i>is about creating new family dynamics. Then Alex Calvert came in and acted the hell out of it.<\/p>\n<p><b>Alexander Calvert:<\/b> When I got the role, I knew that Jack was the Devil\u2019s son, so from the get-go he could either be the sweetest or potentially destroy everything. Maybe he would turn out like Cass \u2014 who was the only one who really understood him \u2014o r maybe Lucifer. It was a fun \u201cwhich way will Jack be pulled\u201d kind of situation.<\/p>\n<p><b>Mark Pellegrino: <\/b>With any narcissist, ego always melds with everything, but I think to the extent that Lucifer was capable of having honest feelings of love, he did have those feelings for Jack. In Apocalypse World, Sam and Dean had never been born and thus couldn\u2019t stop the first apocalypse. Lucifer, <\/i><i>Mary (Samantha Smith, resurrected in Season 11\u2019s ender) and alt versions of Bob<\/i><i>by (Jim Beaver), Charlie, Kevin and more struggled in the sepia-toned landscape.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Jim Beaver: <\/b>The transition from \u201creal\u201d Bobby to the alternate-universe Bobby was welcome because it allowed me to continue working on the show. But there was a real loss in that AU Bobby had no history, love or respect for the boys.<\/p>\n<p><b>Samantha Smith:<\/b> I loved \u201cUnfinished Business\u201d [April 26, 2018], where I explored Mary [the original Winchester hunter] as a de facto general and built the foundation of a meaningful \u2014 and ultimately fatal \u2014 surrogate motherhood of Jack.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2018%E2%80%9320_Therell_Be_Peace_When_You_Are_Done\"><\/span><strong>2018\u201320: There&#8217;ll Be Peace When You Are Done<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>\u201cNo doubt endings are hard. But then again, nothing ever really ends, does it?\u201d (Chuck Shurley, Season 5, \u201cSwan Song\u201d)<\/p>\n<p><i>The final years saw a moving <\/i><i>family reunion with John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in 300th episode \u201cLebanon\u201d (February 7, 2019) and a ramp-up in the battle with God (Rob Benedict). Once it was decided Season 15 would be the end<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>, Dabb and Singer kept <\/i><i>God as the big bad and Jack as the weapon <\/i><i>who could destroy Him. The last day of filming took place on September 10, 2020.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Ackles: <\/b>We didn\u2019t want to run out of gas. The conversations we had for years were, \u201cThe Winchester boys need to go out swinging.\u201d In the beginning of Season 14, Andrew came up to visit and said, \u201cI need to be able to structure the two seasons in a way that works for us going out on top.\u201d The studio and the network said, \u201cYou guys make the call.\u201d That\u2019s when we all decided to aim for that bull\u2019s-eye.<\/p>\n<p><b>Misha Collins:<\/b> The last scene I shot was really Castiel\u2019s last scene. It was a goodbye for both the fictional character and for me. It was very intense\u2014a lot of tears.<\/p>\n<p><b>Calvert:<\/b> For the most part, [the last day]\u00a0kind of felt like every other day at work. You are going through the motions, but toward the end, it started hitting me that after I went home, I would not be coming back. For Jack to help steer the ship home was very cool.<\/p>\n<p><b>Jared Padalecki: <\/b>The very last scene I ever did on <i>Supernatural<\/i> felt very much like the first scene. It was a privilege to play Sam Winchester, who Eric Kripke created and was defined over the years by many other brilliant writers.<\/p>\n<p><b>Ackles: <\/b>Jared and I were out on the road in this beautiful mountain [area] on our last day of shooting. The sun was setting \u2014 keep in mind I\u2019m not saying that <i>that\u2019s<\/i> the final scene, but that was the final scene that we shot. After we yelled, \u201cCut! That\u2019s a series wrap on <i>Supernatural<\/i>,\u201d the crew took a moment, packed up and cleared off. Jared and I stood there a little longer, and I said, \u201cHey, man, I\u2019m really proud of us.
