Windows 10 is packed full of keyboard shortcuts, but you can also create your own keyboard shortcuts<\/a> to launch the app<\/a>lications they are assigned to. Here\u2019s how to create one for launching Google Chrome on Windows 10.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll need\u00a0Google Chrome installed<\/a> on your PC to do this. You\u2019ll also need to create a desktop shortcut for Chrome if you don\u2019t already have one. To do this, open the \u201cStart\u201d menu by clicking the \u201cStart\u201d button in the bottom-left corner of your desktop.<\/p>\n

\"Windows<\/p>\n

Next, scroll down the app list until you find \u201cGoogle Chrome\u201d and then drag and drop the icon to the desktop. A shortcut will be created.<\/p>\n

Right-click the Google Chrome desktop shortcut and select \u201cProperties.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Properties<\/p>\n

Google Chrome\u2019s \u201cProperties\u201d window will appear. In the \u201cShortcut\u201d tab, you\u2019ll notice a \u201cShortcut Key\u201d option with \u201cNone\u201d written in its text box. This means that there is currently no shortcut key assigned to this application.<\/p>\n

Click the text box and press the key on your keyboard that you would like to assign as the shortcut key to Google Chrome. Ctrl+Alt will be added to the beginning by default. So, if you want to make Ctrl+Alt+C your shortcut key for launching Google Chrome, just press \u201cC\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"Assigning<\/p>\n

If a Ctrl+Alt+<key> combination already exists (like Ctrl+Alt+Delete or Ctrl+Alt+Tab), you will not be able to assign that combination to this application.<\/p>\n

When ready, apply the changes by clicking the \u201cApply\u201d button in the bottom-right corner of the window. Next, click \u201cOK.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Apply<\/p>\n

The keyboard shortcut is now applied. Press your chosen keyboard shortcut and Windows will launch Google Chrome.<\/p>\n

To undo this change, either delete the desktop shortcut you created or open its Properties window and remove the shortcut from the \u201cShortcut key\u201d box.<\/p>\n
