Docks tend to be designed specifically for phones and keep them upright\u2014horizontally or vertically\u2014so they can still be viewed easily. Meanwhile, pads grant more freedom in how you position your devices and may even be able to support certain devices that a dock would have trouble with (like true wireless earbuds).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Speed:\u00a0<\/strong>Certain phones will wirelessly charge at different speeds\u2014for example, most iPhones max out at 7.5W charging (except the new iPhone 12). We\u2019ll be sure to lay out how each charger performs speed-wise.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Qi-Certified:\u00a0<\/strong>Most phone manufacturers recommend only using Qi-certified wireless chargers to ensure the best performance. Because of that, we only selected chargers for this list that are Qi-certified.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Case-Friendly:\u00a0<\/strong>You don\u2019t want to remove your case every night just so you can charge your phone, and you\u2019ll find that every charger on this list can deliver power through a case.
