“#Isaiah Washington slams ex-‘Grey’s Anatomy’ co-star Katherine Heigl<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n Isaiah Washington took to Twitter<\/a> on Monday to reignite past drama with his former \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy\u201d co-star Katherine Heigl.<\/p>\n

Posting a photo of the actress, Washington, 57, wrote<\/a>, \u201cThis woman once proclaimed that I should \u2018never\u2019 be allowed to speak publicly again. The world agreed with her proclamation back then and protested for my job and my head in 65 languages. I wish I was on Twitter in 2007, because I will NEVER stop exercising my free speech.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added<\/a>, \u201cI\u2019ve learned that all money ain\u2019t good money and no amount of money can replace your dignity and integrity. Some call it living by your principles.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their feud began in 2007 after Washington reportedly used a homophobic slur to refer to his co-star T.R. Knight<\/a> during a backstage argument with Patrick Dempsey. Washington issued an apology, but later denied that he\u2019d said it.<\/p>\n

Heigl told Access Hollywood<\/a> at the time, \u201cI\u2019m going to be really honest right now, he needs to just not speak in public. Period. I\u2019m sorry, that did not need to be said, I\u2019m not okay with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The drama led to Washington\u2019s exit from the hit ABC series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A source close the Heigl, 41, told Page Six on Tuesday that she stands by what she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cKatherine stood up for her close friend twice when Isaiah publicly outed him and called him a f\u2014-t,\u201d the source told us, adding, \u201cThat\u2019s hate talk, not free speech. She is proud that she stood up for him. Katherine is and always will be an advocate and ally to the LGBTQ community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the actress had her own dramatic exit from the series in 2010 after she\u2019d previously, and controversially, withdrawn her name from the Emmy contenders list.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination,\u201d she said in 2008. \u201cIn addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.\u201d<\/p>\n

The drama continued between Heigl and the show\u2019s creator, Shonda Rhimes. In 2014, while discussing her show \u201cScandal,\u201d Rhimes said, \u201cThere are no Heigls in this situation \u2026 I don\u2019t put up with bulls\u2013t or nasty people. I don\u2019t have time for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heigl responded, \u201cI\u2019m sorry she\u2019s left with such a crapp<\/a>y impression of me. I wish I could do something to change that. Maybe I will be able to someday.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
