Stranger Things<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>4<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>feels even more faraway since production on the Netflix flagship sci-fi horror series<\/a> was forced to halt in March due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. But things may be getting lively again in Hawkins, Indiana. A new social media<\/a> post from the\u00a0Stranger Things<\/em><\/strong> writers room gave us a sneak peek at the script<\/a>s for the complete season \u2014 or rather, a sneak peek at the\u00a0number<\/em> of scripts. While we couldn\u2019t see any of the content on the pages, there were noticeably nine scripts in total, which might suggest that\u00a0Stranger Things 4\u00a0<\/em>will run for nine episodes, a return to the second season\u2019s episode count.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Stranger Things<\/em> writers room shared an image Thursday of the \u201ccomplete season\u201d of scripts, of which we could count nine scripts. This suggests that\u00a0Stranger Things 4<\/em> will total 9 episodes, one more than the third season\u2019s eight-episode count.<\/p>\n

The number of episodes have varied from year to year, with season one totaling eight episodes, the second taking it up to nine, before season three took it back down to eight again. This staggered episode count probably means little, except there will be more story to tell in\u00a0Stranger Things 4<\/em> (or an episode that completely derails the momentum of the plot like in the second season). Regardless, this is the biggest thing we\u2019ve learned about\u00a0Stranger Things<\/em> season 4 since the reveal that the premiere episode will be titled, \u201cThe Hellfire Club.\u201d That episode title suggested that the fourth season may follow the Hawkins kids dealing with a vast conspiracy (or are simply getting into\u00a0X-Men<\/em>), which could certainly warrant a longer episode count.<\/p>\n

There have been few details we could glean about the fourth season of\u00a0Stranger Things<\/em> in the tortuous two-plus year wait. A tantalizing teaser revealed the survival of\u00a0David Harbour<\/strong>\u2018s formerly deceased Chief Hopper, now a prisoner in a Russian labor camp. We know it will feature the return of\u00a0Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin<\/strong>, and\u00a0Noah Schnapp<\/strong>\u00a0as the core group of monster-battling kids. They\u2019ll again be joined by\u00a0Sadie Sink<\/strong>\u00a0as Max, and\u00a0Joe Keery<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Natalia Dyer<\/strong>\u00a0as the oldest Wheeler and Byers kids.\u00a0Maya Hawke<\/strong>\u00a0is also back as their newer friend Robin, along with\u00a0Priah Ferguson<\/strong>\u00a0as Lucas\u2019 fan-favorite little sister Erica.Harbour\u00a0is clearly back as Chief Hopper, and\u00a0Winona Ryder<\/strong>\u00a0returns as Joyce Byers too.\u00a0Cara Buono<\/strong> is also returning as\u00a0the Wheelers\u2019 matriarch Karen. They will also be reportedly joined by four new characters for season 4.<\/p>\n

Stranger Things 4<\/em> has no set premiere date yet.<\/p>\n
