Unlike Windows, there\u2019s not a lot of customization you can do to make your Mac\u2019s software look different from everyone else\u2019s. But you can<\/em> add some personality by changing the accent and highlight colors on your Mac. Here\u2019s how!<\/p>\n

Mac owners running macOS Mojave or higher can choose from eight different accent and highlight colors to customize the look of their operating system. You can also set the accent and highlight colors independently.<\/p>\n

For example, instead of the default blue color, you can use purple as the accent color. It will app<\/a>ear in buttons and when you hover over menus.<\/p>\n

You can also use green as the highlight color. It will appear whenever you highlight text.<\/p>\n

\"Green<\/p>\n

You can customize the accent and highlight colors in System Preferences.<\/p>\n

To do so, click the Apple in the menu bar, and then click \u201cSystem Preferences.\u201d<\/p>\n

Select \u201cGeneral<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Click<\/p>\n

Here, you can select a color (multicolor, blue, purple, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, or graphite) in the \u201cAccent Color\u201d section.<\/p>\n

\"Choose<\/p>\n

After you choose an accent color, macOS automatically makes it the default highlight color, as well. If you\u2019d rather use a different highlight color, just click the drop-down arrow next to \u201cHighlight Color.\u201d<\/p>\n

Select the color you want to use.<\/p>\n

\"Choose<\/p>\n

From now on, you\u2019ll see your new accent and highlight colors on your Mac.<\/p>\n\n
