\n Friday was a day of mourning for \u201cCuomosexuals\u201d \u2014 as Gov. Andrew Cuomo ended the daily press briefings that earned him a cult following.<\/p>\n

The three-term Democrat concluded the series<\/a> with a sapp<\/a>y, 10-minute address during which he talked about the resiliency of New Yorkers who\u2019ve \u201cdone the impossible\u201d and how \u201clove does conquer all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBawling,\u201d @GCONNELIE tweeted. \u201cIt reminded me of commencement. But remember folks: People may be \u2018over it\u2019 but Covid-19 ain\u2019t over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another tweeter, @BazintheCity, thanked Cuomo for his \u201cleadership, empathy and laughs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a like having a beer with an uncle at a BBQ,\u201d he wrote. Proud to you have as my governor as are all New Yorkers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some were in disbelief.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve religiously watched every single day and at points, never thought we\u2019d get here,\u201d @farbav said. \u201cI can\u2019t believe this is the last briefing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others found it hard to say goodbye.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs there going to be a support group for those experiencing severe withdrawal from truth and facts after today?\u201d @SparklayBarclay tweeted.<\/p>\n

Another fan joked about Cuomo\u2019s daily PowerPoint slide that pointed out the day of the week.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I rely on these to know what day it is; now I\u2019ll be lost,\u201d @Coltalbanyco wrote.<\/p>\n

Many of the tweets were accompanied by the hashtag #cuomobriefing.<\/p>\n

Cuomo earned a huge following from his entertaining press conferences during the pandemic \u2014 with devoted fans dubbing themselves \u201cCuomosexuals\u201d and spawning several spoof Twitter<\/a> accounts like @andrewcuomospowerpoints and a fan account, @andrewcuomostan.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
