“#Nelly Cast as Chuck Berry in New Buddy Holly Biopic<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Nelly has been cast as rock\u2019n\u2019roll legend Chuck Berry in a forthcoming film about Buddy Holly, Variety<\/a><\/em> reports and Pitchfork can confirm. The film, titled Clear Lake<\/em>, will also star Colin Hanks and Diane Guerrero, as well as Ruairi O\u2019Connor taking on the role of Buddy Holly.<\/p>\n

Directed by Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy<\/em>, Double Jeopardy<\/em>), Clear Lake<\/em> will focus on Holly and his rock\u2019n\u2019roll contemporaries in the 1950s, framed within the changing climate of the Civil Rights movement. Hanks will star as Holly\u2019s manager Norman Petty, while Guerrero (Orange Is the New Black<\/em>) will portray Holly\u2019s wife, Maria Elena Holly. Nelly\u2019s role as Chuck Berry will mark his first major part in a feature film.<\/p>\n
