\n Little did Amelia Hamlin know that her nipple piercing would cause her to have to get breast reduction surgery when she was just 16 years old.<\/p>\n

In a resurfaced interview on the \u201cSkinny Confidential: Him & Her<\/a>\u201d podcast, the now-19-year-old model opened up about the infection she came down with during Coachella that nearly caused her to go into sepsis.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a 104 fever. 104. My left boob was out to here. I was 16 and had mastitis, whatever the heck that is. It was the worst thing I\u2019ve ever been through,\u201d she said. \u201cI went to the emergency room, they told me, \u2018You have a kidney infection.\u2019 No, I didn\u2019t have a kidney infection. [I] had to go to Cedars [Sinai hospital\u2019s] special disease doctor and he was like, \u2018Yeah, you have strep in your left breast.’\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>, mastitis is an inflammation of breast tissue that causes an infection. Symptoms can include swelling, pain or a burning sensation, skin redness and a fever.<\/p>\n

Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna\u2019s daughter, who now app<\/a>ears to be dating Scott Disick, was \u201c12 hours\u201d away from a full-body infection.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nipple piercing being pulled caused a small abrasion in my body,\u201d Amelia recalled. \u201cI already had the strep living in my system and then it went to that part of my body because it was an open wound. When I tell you, my boobs were this big, and I, like, didn\u2019t just get those down naturally \u2026 I had to fully get surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to get a breast reduction.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amelia joked that her mother was going to \u201ckill\u201d her for talking about the surgery, but said she was concerned about having to live with one \u201csignificantly larger\u201d breast.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
