“#Gucci Mane and Jeezy\u2019s Verzuz Battle: Here\u2019s What Happ<\/a>ened<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Jeezy and Gucci Mane\u2019s Verzuz<\/a> face-off took place tonight at Atlanta\u2019s Magic City, and for most of the broadcast, it was not as cordial of an event as previous Verzuz battles. Following a delay (apparently due to COVID-19 testing<\/a>), Stacey Abrams made an appearance to encourage people to vote in the Senate runoff election in Georgia<\/a>. \u201cCan you wipe my record clean,\u201d Gucci asked. Shortly after, Gucci oopened by performing the Jeezy diss track \u201cRound 1.\u201d Find a track-by-track breakdown of how the night played out below.<\/p>\n

Before \u201cGangsta Music,\u201d Jeezy refused to stand up from his chair while Gucci remained on his feet. \u201cThat was cute,\u201d each of them said at different points in response to their counterpart\u2019s performance. Gucci kept picking newer songs during rounds where Jeezy played tracks from 2005 (or, as Gucci called it, \u201cthat old ass shit\u201d).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Later, Gucci bragged about his jewelry and outfit. \u201cI want y\u2019all to praise my outfit,\u201d he said. \u201cIt cost 10 bands. Look at my opponent! Look at my opponent!\u201d Jeezy replied, \u201cI didn\u2019t know this was a fashion show,\u201d and then he bragged about how much real estate he owns in Atlanta.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After Gucci performed the Jeezy diss \u201cTruth,\u201d Jeezy took a moment<\/a> to explain why he invited Gucci to take T.I.\u2019s place. \u201cI tell you what though\u2014when I called you and extended this invite my n—a, I did it as a real man,\u201d Jeezy said. \u201cIt\u2019s been 20 motherfuckin\u2019 years.\u201d Gucci corrected him that their feud had been going for 15 years. \u201cOK, well however many, you\u2019re still talkin\u2019 the same shit.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The two interrupted each other repeatedly. \u201cI told you straight off the dribble, n—a, we can\u2019t do nothin\u2019 if it ain\u2019t street,\u201d Gucci said. \u201cIf I can\u2019t perform the truth we ain\u2019t doin\u2019 it.\u201d Jeezy assured him it was \u201call good\u201d and continued:\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I said I wanted to do this shit for the culture, that\u2019s what I wanted to do, n—a, I wanted to show you that the world care about what the fuck we got goin\u2019 on because we are the culture. Jeezy then named recently killed rappers including King Von, Pop Smoke, and Nipsey Hussle. After Jeezy performed one more, Gucci\u2019s next pick was another Jeezy diss track.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the final round, the two rappers announced plans to end their feud right there with a joint performance of \u201cIcy,\u201d Gucci\u2019s Jeezy-featuring 2005 song. Gucci thanked Jeezy for extending the olive branch, and then announced they were going to a club together.<\/p>\n
