\n A pizza shop employee in Australia was caught delivering hot and fresh coronavirus to customers this week.<\/p>\n

South Australia began the first of six days in lockdown on Wednesday, after local officials confirmed dozens of new cases of the virus \u2014 a spike the state of 1.7 million hadn\u2019t seen since April.<\/p>\n

Woodville Pizza Bar, in Adelaide, was named a hot spot by contact tracers after learning that a supposed highly contagious COVID-19 patient had visited the restaurant.<\/p>\n

But after further investigation, local police commissioner Grant Stevens admitted on Friday that the super-spreader was, in fact, an employee at the restaurant. South Australian premier Steven Marshall put the blame on the unnamed worker\u2019s carelessness.<\/p>\n

\u201cSA health contact tracers found that one of the close contacts linked to the Woodville Pizza Bar deliberately mislead the contact tracing team,\u201d Marshall said<\/a> in a press conference. \u201cWe now know that they lied.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a result, the state\u2019s stay-at-home order is due to be lifted at midnight Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo say that I am fuming about the actions of this individual is an absolute understatement,\u201d he continued. \u201cThe selfish actions of this individual have put our whole state in a very difficult situation. His actions have affected businesses, individuals ,family groups and is completely and utterly unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Local authorities also defended their \u201cswift\u201d decision to shut down local businesses earlier this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are going hard and we are going early,\u201d Marshall told ABC Australia<\/a> reporters at the time. \u201cTime is of the essence and we must act swiftly and decisively.\u201d<\/p>\n

They also said the pizza shop perp will avoid fines or charges, but plan to continue investigating the employees contacts, according to CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has had a massive impact on our community,\u201d Stevens said. \u201cPeople\u2019s lives have been upended as a result of information that lead us to a course of action that now was not warranted in the circumstances. We\u2019re now taking action to amend that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Australia has gained a reputation for their particularly narrow lockdown restrictions, where even pet owners are banned from walking their dogs.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
