The kids of Hawkins, Indiana are about to meet a new nightmare in\u00a0Stranger Things<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>season 4. Netflix announced new cast members for\u00a0Stranger Things 4<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/em>the upcoming fourth installment of the streamer\u2019s flagship sci-fi horror series<\/a>, and it includes none other than Freddy Krueger himself.\u00a0Robert Englund<\/strong>, the star of Wes Craven\u2019s\u00a0Nightmare on Elm Street<\/em> horror franchise, is joining the\u00a0Stranger Things 4<\/em> cast alongside a slew of newcomers, including new series regulars\u00a0Jamie Campbell Bower<\/strong>\u00a0(The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones<\/em>) and\u00a0Eduardo Franco<\/strong>\u00a0(Booksmart<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Stranger Things<\/em> has hit the nail on the head once again with nostalgic stunt casting \u2014 following up the show\u2019s casting of iconic \u201980s stars like Sean Astin, Winona Ryder, and Paul Reiser, with maybe their best get yet: Freddy Krueger. As a disturbed murderer, of course.
\nEnglund is joining the cast of\u00a0Stranger Things 4<\/em> as recurring character Victor Creel, \u201ca disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s,\u201d the\u00a0Stranger Things<\/em> Twitter<\/a> account announced in a thread revealing the new cast members.<\/p>\n

Joining as new series regulars are\u00a0Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Peter Ballard, \u201ca caring man who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital\u201d who becomes tired of witnessing the hospital\u2019s brutality every day\u201d; Eduardo Franco as Argyle, Jonathan\u2019s (Charlie Heaton) new best friend who is \u201ca fun-loving stoner who proudly delivers delicious pizza pies for Surfer Boy Pizza\u201d; and\u00a0Joseph Quinn<\/strong>\u00a0(Catherine the Great<\/em>) as Eddie Munson, the head of The Hellfire Club, Hawkins\u2019 official D&D club, which is also notably the title of the first episode of season 4. Deadline notes that Eddie is an \u201980s metalhead and outsider who \u201cwill find himself at the terrifying epicenter of this season\u2019s mystery.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other recurring characters in season 4 are\u00a0Game<\/a> of Thrones<\/em> alum\u00a0Tom Wlaschiha<\/strong> (Mr. Jaqen H\u2019ghar himself),\u00a0Sherman Augustus<\/strong>\u00a0(Westworld<\/em>),\u00a0Mason Dye<\/strong>\u00a0(Bosch,<\/em>), and\u00a0Nikola Djuricko<\/strong>\u00a0(Genius, In The Land of Blood and Honey<\/em>).
