\n A contestant on the TBS reboot of \u201cWipeout\u201d has died after completing the show\u2019s obstacle course.<\/p>\n

A male contestant needed help and was tended to by on-set emergency personnel after tackling the course Wednesday, sources close to production tell The Post. The participant was on the set in Santa Clarita, California \u2014 but not on the course itself \u2014 when he reportedly experienced chest pains before noon and medics used a defibrillator on him.<\/p>\n

Paramedics were called and he was transported to the hospital, where he later died.<\/p>\n

Contestants undergo medical exams ahead of filming, and the show, which has yet to air on the network, has on-site paramedics and doctors, as well as a safety producer.<\/p>\n

Production was paused Thursday and Friday, and the show was heading into a preplanned week off for the Thanksgiving holiday. Production is scheduled to resume sometime after the break.<\/p>\n

No further information was released about the contestant.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are devastated to have learned of his passing, and our deepest sympathy goes out to the family,\u201d a TBS spokesperson told The Post in a statement.<\/p>\n

The show is distributed by Endemol Shine North America, which told The Post, \u201cWe offer our heartfelt condolences to the family, and our thoughts are with them at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The revival will be co-hosted by Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Camille Kostek \u2014 also known as Rob Gronkowski\u2019s girlfriend \u2014 as well as pro wrestler and actor John Cena and comedia<\/a>n Nicole Byer (\u201cNailed It!\u201d). The series<\/a>, which originally aired on ABC from 2008 to 2014, features athletic competitors navigating a number of obstacles on a course.<\/p>\n
