It looks like\u00a0Thor: Love and Thunder<\/em><\/strong> is going to have such a big cast of Marvel players that it might end up feeling like\u00a0Avengers 5<\/em>. The Taika Waititi<\/strong> sequel is of course bringing back key players Chris Hemsworth<\/strong>, Tessa Thompson<\/strong>, and Natalie Portman<\/strong>. But a new report points to a \u201csprawling cast\u201d that suggests the film might follow in the footsteps of\u00a0Captain America: Civil War<\/em> \u2013 a movie that features multiple key Marvel characters without being a big\u00a0Avengers<\/em> sequel.<\/p>\n

In a new THR<\/a> report about\u00a0Black Panther 2<\/em>, there\u2019s also info about another Marvel movie:\u00a0Thor: Love and Thunder<\/em>. Per their story, \u201cIn January, Taika Waititi\u2019s sequel Thor: Love and Thunder is starting its Australian shoot with a sprawling cast assembling for what one insider is likening to \u2018an Avengers 5<\/em> feel,\u2019 thanks to its ensemble.\u201d
\nSaying the film will have an \u201cAvengers 5<\/em> feel\u201d suggests that we could be getting something akin to\u00a0Captain America: Civil War<\/em> \u2013 a film that brought together almost everyone in the MCU, something that\u2019s usually reserved for\u00a0Avengers<\/em> sequels. Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor, and returning\u00a0Thor<\/em> franchise players include Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Tessa Thompson as\u00a0Valkyrie. But we also recently learned that Chris Pratt<\/strong>\u2018s Star-Lord was also going to be in the flick, suggesting that more\u00a0Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em> players were on board.\u00a0Avengers: Endgame<\/a><\/em> ended with Thor blasting off with the rest of the Guardians, so that makes sense.<\/p>\n

But the THR report suggests that even more familiar MCU faces could be popping up. That would make sense since\u00a0Avengers: Endgame<\/em> left the MCU in such a weird, new place, and Marvel now has to reassemble and rebuild its cinematic universe in new directions.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in MCU land, Peyton Reed\u2019s\u00a0Ant-Man 3<\/em> is expected to arrive in 2021, and James Gunn will likely start shooting\u00a0Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3<\/em> at the end of that year.<\/p>\n

Thor: Love and Thunder\u00a0<\/em>is set to open on\u00a0February 11, 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
