“#Lyft passenger apologizes for racist rant over wearing mask<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n The Lyft rider from a caught-on-video racist rant against his driver \u2014 who\u2019d asked him to wear a mask in the car \u2014 would like everyone to know he was drunk at the time and that he\u2019s now very sorry.<\/p>\n

Both he and his wife have lost their jobs since video of his ugly rant went public \u2014 and they are \u201cbeing evicted,\u201d the potty-mouthed rider from Issaquah, Washington, told The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe both lost the best jobs we\u2019ve ever had and are being evicted from the house we rent,\u201d the passenger told The Post in an emailed statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere really is no context to the incident \u2014 my behavior in the video was despicable,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The clip shows the rider erupting in expletives after driver David Kangogo asked him to put his mask back on after taking it off during the ride.<\/p>\n

The perturbed passenger repeatedly calls the driver a \u201csand n\u2014\u2013r\u201d and at one points threatens to urinate in the car.<\/p>\n

\u201cI humbly apologize for my behavior towards David K. the Lyft driver on Tuesday night,\u201d he told The Post, asking to be identified only as \u201cJoe from Issaquah.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI should have never said the things I said nor acted like a complete idiot.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t deserve that. Nobody does. I had too much to drink and lost control of my tongue and I said horrible things that I truly regret.<\/p>\n

\u201cWatching the video was hard for me; it was if I didn\u2019t recognize the person. I let myself down, I let my friends and family down, I let my company down, I let our whole country down,\u201d he said, dramatically.<\/p>\n

\u201cI ask for forgiveness and mercy from literally everyone, especially David the driver, the Lyft community, my family and friends and our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
