A PE teacher who got drunk at student prom and flashed her breasts has been banned from classrooms for two years. <\/p>\n

According to The Daily Mail<\/a>, Norfolk, U.K. PE teacher Katherine Lake, 44, admitted she behaved inapp<\/a>ropriately at the Year 11 student prom at Reepham High School in Norfolk in June 2019.<\/p>\n

Year 11 is traditionally the last year of secondary school for students in Britain. <\/p>\n

A disciplinary panel heard Lake drank eight glasses of wine before attempting to sit on a students\u2019 lap. They also heard she smoked a cigarette with another student.<\/p>\n

Katherine Lake, 44, faced complaints over inappropriate behaviour with pupils at a Year 11 prom at Reepham High School in Norfolk in June 2019.<\/p>\n

The PE teacher even flashed her breasts while posing with five students in a photo booth at the prom, the panel heard.<\/p>\n

Lake admitted to the bad behavior but said she couldn\u2019t remember what happened that night because she had drank eight glasses of wine. The panel heard that she drank almost an entire bottle of wine at a teachers\u2019 gathering before the prom, and four more glasses at the event itself.<\/p>\n

The 44-year-old is married and was head of physical education at the Norwich school from January 2008.<\/p>\n

She was fired in September of last year, according to the Eastern Daily Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She admitted her actions were unacceptable professional conduct but said as she was under the influence of alcohol at the time and could not recall the events.<\/p>\n

The disciplinary panel heard the case on Oct. 26 and has recommended the former PE teacher be banned from a classroom for the next two years for her behavior at the prom. <\/p>\n

She would be able to appeal after serving out the ban and could get a new teaching job. <\/p>\n

According to The Sun<\/a>, Lake has said on Facebook<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019ve made a massive mistake which has led to a change in my career path.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t be happier. 2020 is going to be my year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mrs Lake \u2014 who started boozing with other teachers before the prom \u2014 said she was so drunk she could not remember the night.<\/p>\n

According to iTV<\/a>, the PE teacher was in good standing prior to the student prom drunkeness that got her fired.<\/p>\n

She has also said she sought treatment for alcohol abuse and would not drink at school events again.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe panel also took account of the uniquely influential role that teachers can hold in pupils\u2019 lives and the fact that pupils must be able to view teachers as role models in the way they behave,\u201d the disciplinary panel wrote of the decision, according to EDP.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe panel considered that Mrs Lake\u2019s behavior, in committing the misconduct whilst holding a position of authority, as a teacher of many years\u2019 experience could affect public confidence in the teaching profession.\u201d<\/p>\n

The panel heard Mrs Lake was under the influence of alcohol at the time the events took place and could not recall what had happened, however she accepted them.\u00a0<\/p>\n
