\n New York City\u2019s coronavirus positivity rate has ticked up to 3.11%, according to City Hall.<\/p>\n

That is a slight increase from Friday\u2019s number of 3.02%, which is measured on a seven-day average.<\/p>\n

There were 1,345 new COVID-19 cases and 118 patients admitted to the hospital with the potentially deadly virus, Mayor De Blasio tweeted Saturday.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThis weekend is critical to fighting back #COVID19.\u201d the mayor tweeted.<\/p>\n

The mayor\u2019s office said Friday night the positivity rate had topped 4% in 40 ZIP codes including Breezy Point in the Rockaways and Ozone Park in Queens.<\/p>\n

De Blasio also warned the city could be facing \u201corange zone\u201d restrictions from Gov. Cuomo as soon as the first week in December. That would mean that indoor dining would be suspended and gyms and hair salons would have to close.<\/p>\n

Cuomo would not commit Friday to a timeline for any potential closures saying it depended what happ<\/a>ened after the Thanksgiving holiday.<\/p>\n

The governor released statewide numbers Saturday that showed a positivity rate of 2.87% or 5,972 new cases.<\/p>\n

The 207,907 tests reported Friday set a record. There were 2,443 people in the hospital statewide, including 381 who were newly admitted, and 34 people died, Cuomo said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
