“#’Not physically possible’ for Dominion machines to flip votes: rep<\/strong>”

\n A representative for Dominion Voting Systems on Sunday hit back at claims\u00a0that the software company meddled in the election to benefit President-elect Joe Biden \u2014 stressing it was \u201cnot physically possible\u201d for its machines to change voter selections.<\/p>\n

Michael Steel addressed claims from President Trump\u2019s allies that Dominion\u2019s systems \u2014 which are used for elections in parts of 28 states \u2014 switched votes to Biden, The Hill reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a nonpartisan American company. It is not physically possible for our machines to switch votes from one candidate to the other,\u201d Steel said on Fox News<\/a>\u2019 \u201cAmerica\u2019s News HQ.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur election system is run by local elected officials and nonpartisan poll watchers. We simply provide a tool to count the ballots and to print and count ballots.\u201d<\/p>\n

At a press conference at the Republican National Committee headquarters with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani last week, attorney Sidney Powell had also alleged that Dominion used Smartmatic technology<\/a>, claiming that the other company\u2019s software was \u201ccreated in Venezuela at the direction of Hugo Chavez,\u201d the late Venezuelan president who died in 2013.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Steel said: \u201cThere is no way such a massive fraud could have taken place and there are no connections between our company and Venezuela, Germany, Barcelona, Kathmandu, whatever the latest conspiracy theory is.\u201d<\/p>\n

When pressed by Fox News\u2019 Eric Shawn on how he could be sure Dominion\u2019s machines were secure, Steel said that when voters casts their ballot, they fill it out on a touchscreen and are then given a printed copy that they hand to a local election official for safekeeping.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf any electronic interference had taken place, the tally reported electronically would not match the printed ballots,\u201d Steel said. \u201cAnd in every case where we\u2019ve looked at in Georgia, all across the country, the printed ballots, the gold standard in election security, has matched the electronic tally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later Sunday, Giuliani put out a statement saying that Powell is not on Trump\u2019s legal team and \u201cis practicing law on her own.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity,\u201d the statement said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
